Want to eat healthier at home AND save time? Try sauteing your vegetables! This low-fat pan-frying method uses just a small amount of cooking oil over medium-to-high heat and is super quick so all the nutrients and vitamins are kept intact. Watch the video above for a step-by-step guide, and get the lowdown below too:

Step 1: Heat up the pan, making sure it’s hot before you start sauteing.

Step 2: Add oil. Use olive oil (not extra virgin olive oil) for a healthier option. Swirl the oil to coat the pan evenly.

Step 3: Add onions first, followed by garlic, making sure they sizzle when they hit the pan. Saute until they’re cooked.

Step 4: Add your veggies, whatever you like! In the video above, we used sliced red, yellow and green capsicums, as well as button mushrooms for extra flavour. Start with the hardest veggies first as they take a longer time to cook. Toss well!

Tip: Make sure your vegetables are cut to a similar size, so they will cook evenly.

Step 5: Season with salt and pepper, or any other seasoning of your choice. You can use herbs too!

Step 6: Add a bit of water or stock to steam the vegetables. That’s it!
