Like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day is an equally important day for us to commemorate the father figures in our lives and thank them for their love and sacrifices. If you’re a father yourself, it’s also a day to feel appreciated as well as be thankful for the lovely and filial children you have in your life. Our celebrities too, have not forgotten to commemorate this special day.
We’ve rounded up 10 local celebrities like Rebecca Lim and Kate Pang who have taken to social media to pay tribute to the special men in their lives. If you’re unsure of how to go about topping this year’s celebrations on the next Father’s Day, their messages are a good place to start for some inspiration.

It was a triple celebration for Kate Pang and Andie Chen. Not only was it Father’s Day, June 16 was also Andie’s birthday (he turned 34). Kate posted a video montage of Andie hugging one of their daughters, Avery, who shares Andie’s birthday. Her caption was a cheeky one, wishing both her Geminian babies a happy birthday and urging them both to be good and not talk back to her.
Kate also gifted him a Star Wars red lightsaber (we’re guessing Andie is a kid at heart) and the family celebrated with a candle-filled cake. Andie on the other hand, posted a simple and heartfelt birthday message on his Instagram. As the ambassador for The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Andie, who revealed that he is not a “birthday person”, said his birthday wish is for people to donate to the cause.

Xiang Yun and Edmund Chen’s family celebrated this year’s Father’s Day with a bang. Currently in Prague, Czech Republic as part of a longer Europe trip, the family shared many insights into their vacation, including clips of Prague’s Old Town and enjoying the sights and sounds of cities such as Bratislava, Vienna, Budapest.
Xiang Yun also took to Instagram to post an old family photo while Edmund shared a photo of a meal where he thanked his family for showering him with gifts to mark the special occasion. Their children, Chen Yi Xi and Yi Xin, both of whom are aspiring actors, also posted selfies with the father and thanked him for his love and guidance.
We wouldn’t know the hardships and sacrifices a parent has to go through until we become one. That is why Zheng Geping is so grateful to his late father, whom he misses dearly. He posted a photo of him with his late father, saying he knows he’s happy now and he loves him. He also wished all the other ‘super dads’ a Happy Father’s Day. Geping’s children, budding actors Calvert and Tay Ying, also posed for photos with their father and posted the playful shots on Instagram — a clear sign of how close they all are.

Sweetheart Rebecca Lim melted our hearts with an old family photo that showed her parents at a park with her and her siblings. Talk about throwback! “To my Daddy — my hero, strength and inspiration amongst many other wonderful things, thank you for loving us with all your heart and being,” she wrote.
If you’re wondering which is Rebecca in the photo, she shared that she’s most likely the one on the right seated on the pink bicycle. How cute was she?
A father of two himself, Shaun Chen did not forget to thank his own father on the special day. Posting a photo of his father smiling cheerfully with cakes in front of him (I mean, life is so much fuller with cake), Shaun expressed his gratitude to his father for everything he has done for him and his siblings. He went on to wish him a long, happy and healthy life.
Shaun’s wife Celine Chin on the other hand, sent him love with a cute selfie of the couple while not forgetting to wish her late father as well:
Father’s Day might be an emotional day for those who’ve lost their father figures. And on this day, Felicia shared an introspective message as she talked about how much she has been missing her father since he left 18 years ago.
This photo she posted, she said, especially reminded her of him. She ended the heartfelt paragraph with a note of empathy, reminding those who feel the same way as her that they are not alone. “Sending love and hugs from me to you,” she added.
The first is always the most memorable. For Xu Bin, this year’s Father’s Day marked his first celebration as a father after his wife Wang Yifei gave birth to their baby boy last July. He shared photos of him feeding his son, while hilariously opening his mouth in hopes that his son will mimic his actions and eat (if you’re a parent, you’d identify with this one).
His wife Yifei took to her Instagram and shared a couple photo of the two, wishing her “handsome husband” a happy Father’s Day:
With a picture perfect photo of the whole family smiling from ear to ear, Huang Biren wished her husband and fathers everywhere a happy Father’s Day. Also, can we talk about how the family is so blessed with the height gene? For reference, Biren’s height is 1.75m and she looks to be wearing flats in the photo.
It’s not difficult to see where up-and-coming actor Joel Choo gets his good looks from. Just take a look at the series of photos Joel posted of his father, Choo Hou Ren, 64, when he acted in the 1988 TV drama Mystery (迷离夜) when he was just 33. Joel paired it with with a straightforward caption, “Happy Father’s Day”, because his admiration is clear.
