Stuffed with hashbrowns and bacon rashers plus slices of tasty cheese, these toasties done Aussie style make for a satisfactory meal any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsps vegetable or olive oil
- 4 hashbrowns
- 4 bacon rashers, rind removed
- 4 eggs
- 4 hamburger buns, split
- 30 g butter, at room temperature
- 4 slices tasty cheese
- ⅓ cup tomato sauce
Steps
Heat oil in a frying pan over moderate heat. Add hash browns; cook for 3 mins each side or until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towel. Add bacon to pan; cook for 3 mins each side or until golden and crisp.
Crack eggs into pan; cook for 4 mins or until cooked to your liking.
Preheat a sandwich press. Spread both sides of buns with butter. Top bun bases with cheese, bacon, an egg and a hash brown. Top with tomato sauce d remaining bun. Repeat to make 4 in total. Cook in sandwich press, in batches, for 3 mins or until heated and toasted.
