Banana Nian Gao French Toast

The breakfast fave gets a festive update with nian gao and banana slices sandwiched in between slices of golden toasts. 


3 – 4 eggs, beaten

30 g unsalted butter

2 slices white bread

6 slices nian gao

3 small bananas, sliced

Golden maple syrup, to drizzle


1Egg wash the white bread.

2Heat butter in pan and fry bread till golden brown.

3Place slices of nian gao and bananas on a slice of toast.

4Bake toast in oven for 1 min.

5Remove and slice into halves.

6Drizzle golden maple syrup over before serving.
