Making these steamed xiao long baos at home is totally worth the effort when you follow this quick and easy recipe.
- 200g minced pork
- 1 stalk scallion
- ¼ piece onion
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Pepper and salt, to taste
- ½ tsp sesame oil
For dip sauce:
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp white sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 5 stalks coriander, finely shredded
- 1 ginger, finely shredded
Dice the ingredients for the filling such as scallion and onion. Add in the minced meat and seasonings. Mix evenly and place it into the centre of the Xiao Long Bao skins.
Wrap the skin into the shape of steamed dumplings.
Place a piece of baking paper underneath the dumplings and transfer them onto the steaming plate.
Place the plate over boiling water in a pot. Cover the pot and maintain a small or medium flame for 15 to 18 mins.
Serve the dumplings on a large plate with the dip sauce.
