- 1 cup of plain flour in a tray
- 1 ½ cup of plain flour in a bowl
- 1 cup of water or beer
- 1½ tsps of baking soda
- 1 medium size onion
- Oil for frying
Peel and slice the onion (onion slices should be 1-cm thick).
Separate the rings and use only the bigger rings.
For the batter, add baking soda and water (or beer) to a bowl of plain flour.
Coat the onion rings with the tray of plain flour.
Dip the onion rings into the batter and fry on low heat.
Fry the onions for a minute or two.
Season the onion rings with salt.
