Guacamole is an avocado-based condiment commonly served as a dip, spread or salad in modern Mexican cuisine. Combining lemon, garlic, and avocado, it could also be a zesty way to pop in some greens into your meal.


  • 2 large ripe (640 g) avocados, peeled, deseeded
  • Bottled jalapeños peppers, drained, coarsely chopped, to taste
  • 1 medium ripe tomato (150 g), diced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • Lemon juice, to taste

Mash avocado with a fork until roughly smashed.


Gently stir the jalapeños, tomato, garlic and lemon juice through the avocado (make sure you keep some of the texture). Season and serve with crusty bread.
