Need a midday pick-me-up? Try these Australian-inspired energy bites for an energy boost. They’re no-bake, take little time out of your busy schedule and are deliciously addictive. A major plus: whole foods for ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 500 g dates
  • 250 g dried bananas
  • 250 g of cacao powder
  • 500 g of baked almonds
  • 200 g of rolled oats
  • 250 g of baked cashew
  • 250 g of mixed nuts
  • 100 g of peanut butter (optional)
  • Salt and honey (optional)

Soak the dates and dried bananas in hot water (the amount of water to come up to just above the ingredients).

Blend almonds, oats, cashew into fine pieces.

Mix all the dry ingredients together (almonds, oats, cashew, cacao powder and mixed nuts).

Blend the dates and dried bananas.

05.

Mix all the ingredients together. Use your hand to massage the ingredients together and mix them well.

06.

You will get a sticky paste, and you can add in some salt and honey if you would like to bites to be sweeter.

07.

Shape the paste into small balls that are 3 cm in diameter (or based on your preference), coat them with cocoa powder and refrigerate.
