Packed with oats and cereal, this chocolate, apricot and almond slice is a real sweet treat!
- 125 g butter, chopped
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsps golden syrup
- 11/2 cups rolled oats
- ½ cup Nutremill 3 in1 Chocolate Cereal (2 sachets)
- 100 g milk chocolate, finely chopped, plus 40 g extra, melted
- ½ cup self-raising flour, sifted •½ cup dried apricots, chopped
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds
Preheat oven to moderately low, 160 C. Lightly grease and line an 18 x 28 cm slice pan.
Combine butter, sugar and golden syrup in a medium pan. Stir over low heat for 4 to 5 mins, until sugar dissolves.
Transfer butter mixture to a large bowl. Add oats, Nutremill Chocolate Cereal, chocolate, flour, apricots and almonds. Mix well.
Press mixture firmly into prepared pan. Bake for about 30 to 35 mins or until golden.
Once slice is cold, drizzle with remaining melted chocolate. Allow to set. Cut into serving size pieces and store in an airtight container.
