Catch a reprieve from your fiery, addictive mala hotpot with a plunge of our quintessential sesame dip, featuring sesame paste, light soya sauce, ginger, garlic and more. Its burst of fragrance comes from putting together sesame paste with sesame oil, a combination that makes any of your hotpot or shabu shabu ingredients all the more inviting.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsps sesame paste
  • 2 tbsps water
  • 1 tbsp white rice wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsps light soya sauce
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (10 g)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (2 cloves)
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsps sesame oil
  • 1 stalk of fresh coriander (3 g), chopped
  • 1 stalk of spring onion (3 g), sliced
  • 1⁄2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

In a bowl, add the sesame paste, water, vinegar, light soya sauce, ginger, garlic and salt. Mix well.

Add the sesame oil, coriander and spring onion. Mix well.
