Tired of using leftover mince in a pasta dish? Here’s a delicious way to combine mince with tomato sauce for easy, cheesy Turkey Bolognese Pizzas
Ingredients
- 2 tbsps olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, peeled, finely diced
- 1 celery stalk, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 500 g turkey mince
- 500 g jar tomato pasta sauce
- ½ cup water
- 6 individual pizza bases (you can also use wraps)
- 1 cup grated pizza cheese
- Basil, rocket leaves, to serve
Steps
Preheat oven to hot, 200 C.
In a large frying pan, heat oil on medium. Saute onion, carrot and celery 4 to 5 mins, until onion is tender. Add garlic. Cook 1 min.
Increase heat to high. Add mince. Brown for about 6 to 8 mins, breaking up the lumps with a wooden spoon.
Stir in pasta sauce and water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium. Simmer 8 to 10 mins, until sauce thickens. Allow to cool.
Place pizza bases on oven trays. Spread 2/3 cup Bolognese mixture over each base. Sprinkle evenly with cheese.
Bake 15 to 20 mins, until cheese is golden and bubbling. Scatter with leaves and serve in wedges. Accompany with a salad, if you like.
