Domestic Diva Awards is The Singapore Women’s Weekly’s yearly highlight of the best products that help us live, work and eat better. This year, over 800 products across 101 food categories, ranging from cooking essentials to festive snacks and vitamins & supplements were nominated. The winners were decided through public voting in an online survey, and Editor’s Pick, recognising the best in their fields.
We love snacking as much as the next person.
It can be a way to satiate our hunger during a busy day before we can find time to have our next meal or a way to get an energy boost to overcome the midday slump. Snacking has also been found to be a source of comfort, whether it is to fulfil a craving, get through boredom, seek solace or even just get rid of that “mouth itch” when you just want something to chew on.
When it comes to picking out snacks though, the unhealthy high-sugar, high-salt and high-fat ones unfortunately always taste the best. On the flip side, going to the other extreme to munch on carrot sticks, celery stalks or apple slices just doesn’t hit the spot the same way.
Then there is the middle ground of healthy snacks. From nuts and dried fruits to lentil chips and granola, these snacks can be seen as a healthier alternative to indulgent potato chips and chocolate without being too austere. Here are our favourites:
