The best way to get some antioxidants and still give yourself a treat is with a dessert packed with fruit. And seeing that strawberries are in season now, we hunted down some amazing sweets which are both drool-worthy and “Insta-pretty”.
Chateraise is a new patisserie located in the basement of the newly-revamped Isetan Scotts supermarket, and is fast becoming the go-to for Japanese sweets. The cakes here are enchanting (one look at the colourful assortment in the display counter and you’ll be tempted to try everything), but it’s their selection of strawberry cakes which is irresistible. They currently have about four to five different strawberry desserts and each features juicy strawberries imported from Japan plus luscious fresh cream – a winning combo!
This is not your usual strawberry milkshake – it’s more like an epic fusion of a cheesecake, ice-cream and strawberry milkshake all in one. Share this Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake with someone if you could, but after one sip you might not! You can get this towering dessert at Benjamin Browns Bistro & Bakery Forum Galleria.
Speaking about strawberry cheesecake, have you tried the Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake from Cake Spade? Do not underestimate this simple-looking dessert – one bite into the light, melt-in-your-mouth tofu cheese cream and layer of succulent strawberry slices and you’ll fall in love.
We found this beautiful strawberry & matcha tart on aspiring patissiere May Ling’s account and we really want to try it! It’s rare to come across a strawberry and matcha combo on a dessert, so it’s certainly peaked our interest!
And while talking about strawberry tarts, let’s not forget that one of The Weekly‘s favourite patisserie/bakery has a new creation out earlier this year – this cutie is topped with large strawberries and a giant dollop of pistachio cream! It’s definitely going into our list of must-try.
Nothing beats a good ol’ strawberry shortcake and the one at Bakerzin is one of the best you can find. Light fresh cream and generous chunks of strawberries are baked in each, it’s no wonder this still gets thumbs up all the time.
