This week, our editor Candy tried making banana cake with her kids at home! But instead of an entire cake, they made bite-sized nibblets that are way more convenient to eat and share.
Although the process took some time (you can see the change in lighting outside the windows – wait for the bloopers at the end!), she says it was all worth it when the cake came out of the oven. It tasted so good, there was none left by the next morning.
Candy shares, “This family recipe was passed down from my aunty years ago – she added chocolate chips to the banana cakes she made for my family because she knew that we loved chocolate-everything!”
A tip to nail that depth of flavour? “Use bananas that are really ripe… and I mean REALLY RIPE (the patches of black should already be showing up on the banana skin),” she says.
