Bak Kwa has always been considered a luxury good, which makes them slightly pricier on the average day and even more so when Chinese New Year is around the corner. Despite that, we still see long queues especially at Chinatown during that period – making us buy them up to weeks in advance, stored up in the fridge.

If you want to avoid stale Bak Kwa, you may want to consider making your own. As much as it tastes good, it’s definitely simpler than we make it out to be – have a try and who knows, it may soon become a yearly tradition for you too!
