Skincare trends come and go, but the significance of well-hydrated skin remains constant. After all, keeping your skin moisturised can help diminish the signs of ageing, revitalise tired skin and give you a healthy and natural glow.

Having radiant skin stems from a well-maintained skincare routine, which includes getting a regular facial treatment. When it comes to staying ahead of personalised and cutting-edge facials, Cheongdam Korean Skin Management takes the lead, bringing the best of Seoul’s skincare trends to Singapore. Among them is achieving glass skin, which can be done with microneedling (MTS), a procedure that uses tiny needles to create controlled skin wounds and stimulate collagen production, or stamping, which uses a stamp-like device for direct product application on the skin.

Awarded the Best Hydrating Facial in this year’s Spa Awards, the Exosome Magic Skin Booster, which is also known as ASCE+ Derma Signal SRLV, is a cosmetic treatment that uses one of the world’s first pure stem cell-derived exosomes to hydrate the skin, minimise pores, help with brightening, improve skin rejuvenation and prevent inflammation.

The two-hour session begins with the therapist doing a skin analysis to determine whether stamping or MTS is more appropriate. Those who have sunburn or undergone laser treatments recently are advised to wait for a minimum of two weeks or until their skin barrier stabilises.

After the scan, a gentle facial cleansing lotion is applied to remove any impurities. With MTS, a numbing cream is applied on the face for 20 minutes. Once the numbing cream settles, chlorhexidine is applied as an antiseptic, to protect skin from bacteria.

Once the skin is prepped, the Exosome serum is delivered either through stamping or microneedling. This is where the exosomes, nano-sized vesicles or fluid-filled sacs, are sent to the skin cells to promote skin regeneration and repair. Within the serum, the exosomes are combined with other essential nutrients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, which aid in skin moisturisation, wrinkles reduction and skin rejuvenation.

The rest of the serum is then applied through cryocell calming, which exposes the skin to low temperatures for skin healing and better nutrient absorption.

The treatment ends with a 20-minute photodynamic therapy (PDT). A facial mask is applied before exposing your face under a LED lamp to help treat acne, rosacea and redness, while stimulating the skin’s healing mechanisms.

The therapist will advise you to resume daily activities post-treatment, but avoid sunlight for 48 hours and active skincare for a week. Some redness is expected between three and seven days. The aftercare includes rinsing your face with tepid water and using a gentle cleanser and healing mask for one week.

The treatment met Spa Awards reviewer Cherie Xu’s expectations, who wanted to treat her dry skin and tiny bumps. “The process felt really comfortable. There was zero pain and the after-effects were amazing. My skin immediately felt supple and soft,” she says.

Cherie also commends her therapist and the staff: “They were really friendly and assuring, and the ambience made me feel really relaxed.”

Apart from the Exosome Magic Skin Booster treatment, Cheongdam Korean Skin Management has also gained recognition for its Korean Signature 10-Step Skin Treatment (Best Customisable Korean Facial) and Pico Mix & Match (Best Pigmentation - Targeting Treatment) in this year’s Spa Awards.

First-time customers can enjoy a trial session of the Exosome Magic Skin Booster at $488 for one session (UP $1,164 for one session, subject to GST). Book your appointment here. Offer is valid from Aug 15 to Sep 30, 2023.
