It's said that a good fragrance is a powerful cocktail of memories and emotion. Safe to say, there was no shortage of such "cocktails" at Making Scents of Lastingness, an event organised by The Singapore Women's Weekly in partnership with French fashion house Chloé.

Held on the Saturday afternoon of January 7 at Chloé's pop-up boutique in Raffles City, the intimate event had The Singapore Women's Weekly readers showing up in their floral best.

Most of them came with a plus one (friend/sister/cousin), making the occasion extra special.

All that was done while discovering Chloé's Atelier des Fleurs range of 17 nature-inspired fragrances, and the infinite ways to layer them.

The two newest scents -- Violette with delicate, powdery notes and Santalum with smooth and woody accents -- enchanted guests, as they sniffed their way through the Atelier des Fleurs collection.

After a warm welcome by host Angelique Teo and The Singapore Women's Weekly editor Estelle Low, guests got a quick introduction of the Chloé brand, followed by a tour of the store.

They were then invited to the back-of-house room for a floral arrangement workshop led by Joan Chua, director of floral design school Fleuriste.

There, they learned about the art of floral composition, plus tips and tricks to make their bouquets last longer. The keyword of the day? Lastingness, a nod to the Chloé fragrances that are built to last.

While the guests fussed over their individual floral arrangements, Estelle took the opportunity to spotlight the importance of lastingness in relationships, by sharing how her decade-long marriage evolved, particularly before and after having children, and the lessons she learnt along the way.

Angelique offered insights from her marriages too. "Patience", "self-control" and "self-love" were popular words during the conversation!

All that sharing wasn't for nothing. As part of a giveaway, guests were invited to write their own relationship pledge for 2023, dedicated to someone dear in their life.

Two guests were randomly picked (via their relationship pledge cards) to win a 150ml Atelier des Fleurs fragrance bottle each.

As it turned out, both winners wrote relationship pledges to themselves. Awww.

Besides walking away with their unique floral creations, guests received goodie bags with mini Atelier des Fleurs perfumes and vouchers.
