If you find yourself constantly feeling stressed, it might be time to take a break.

Singapore’s first Wellness Festival is happening from 3 – 12 June 2022. The festival line-up includes over 120 different activities, including fitness lessons, lifestyle experiences, and activities focused on emotional and mental wellbeing.

Whether you want to unwind by taking up a relaxing new hobby, working up a sweat in a fitness class, or spending some quality time with your family, here are 14 activities you can look forward to.

Family: Educational goat farm tour

Your little ones will be delighted to see the goats up close, and even get the chance to feed them in this educational goat farm tour. In a specially curated tour for the Wellness Festival, you’ll also learn more about sustainability, health, and nutrition.

If you’ve never tasted goat milk before, you’ll also get the chance to try it during the tour, with each person being given a bottle of fresh goat milk. Plus, there’ll be an activity book with stickers for the kids, and a souvenir for everyone to take home.

Family: Kids and family yoga @ EXPO

This playful and fun yoga-inspired community event is sure to get you and the entire family relaxed and in the right headspace.

Put your name down for different types of kid-friendly yoga classes and work your way through different types of movement with your family. Kids can also hop onto the turf for some free-play with giant bubbles or hoops after the activities. Not to mention, you’ll also get to take home a free yoga mat at the end of the day.

Enjoy the wonder of nostalgic kampung life in this outdoor tour and farming experience for the family.

Take a walk around an organic community farm, where you’ll find native vegetables, fruit trees, herbs, and maybe even a few farm chickens. After that, learn how to make organic compost, and pot a plant together. To end the day, indulge in a light farm to table lunch in the rustic backyard kitchen.

Family fun: Parent-child wellness day @ Fairmont

Spend some quality time with your child as you work on your core and flexibility in this wellness session tailored for kids aged four to eight. Also included is a blindfolded segment to help cultivate trust and build spatial awareness.

After the session, the two of you will be able to take a dip in Fairmont’s swimming pool for 90 minutes, and enjoy a guided tour around the hotel’s on-site Aquaponics farm. Round off the day with a wellness meal by the pool at The Eight, and a thoughtful souvenir to bring home.

Ever wanted to ride a horse? Well, here’s your chance.

Singapore Turf Club’s Equine Wellness Programme is specially designed by the centre’s expert partner to help improve your wellbeing through equine interaction. 

Feel your stress melt away as you learn to groom, lead, and guide the horses. You’ll even get the chance to saddle up and ride a horse over a simple obstacle course. In the three hour session, you’ll relieve stress, reconnect with your thoughts and feelings, and build confidence and self-awareness – all while spending time with the gentle and majestic horses, of course.

Agy is a Singapore-based textile artist specialising in embroidery. When she practises stitch meditation, she slows down and reconnects with herself. The focus is on the process, not the product.

In this masterclass, she’ll share how taking up the needle and thread can help you to relax, focus, and be in the present. Through meditative stitching, you’ll produce a square mat which can be used as a tea coaster. Not only that, you’ll also receive a stitch meditation kit to encourage you to continue the practice at home.

The walk will end at Crane, where you’ll gather for an invigorating workshop on natural skincare. The somatic movement series by the National Gallery Singapore includes three different movement workshops.

In Art of Silat, a foundational silat workshop, you will perform the traditional form of martial arts rooted in Malay culture, to the sound of live drums. 

Elemental Qi Gong takes inspiration from the gentle yet decisive brush strokes of Chinese ink paintings – you’ll make use of movement and breath work to express the gestural strokes of the brush, and end the session with a gong meditation. 

In Embodied Landscapes, you will learn how to embody an earthly landscape through movement, using the body as a medium. Move to the sounds of a specially curated playlist designed to help you enter a flow state of mind, where you’ll become more curious and inspired.

Start your morning right with this relaxing Tai Chi workout at the serene Shiseido Forest Valley at Jewel Changi Airport, around the iconic HSBC Rain Vortex. 

In this session will be led by SEA Games Wushu Gold Medalist, Lee Tze Yuan, you’ll engage in gentle movements to achieve calmness and focus your mind. Through Tai Chi, you will achieve a more balanced state of body and mind.

Learn, train, and drive like a professional race car driver. 

In this one-of-a-kind fitness program, you’ll learn to make the most of your exercise time using HIIT. Get fit in a 30 minute training session made out of Bulgarian Bag, Air Bike, Muay Thai training, and Dynamax Ball. Through these, you’ll get to focus on the key fitness elements such as core strength, muscular endurance, speed, and reflexes.

Afterwards, you’ll be able to get behind the wheel in a 10 minute karting session at Orchard Road’s first electric karting circuit.

This activity also has a kids session, but children have to be above the age of nine and with a minimum height of 130cm to get on the kart.
