Netflix's smash hit survival competition series, Physical: 100 returned this year for its second season with a lineup of formidable contenders who will face even tougher challenges. In a nutshell, the reality show pits participants against each other in challenges that test and push their physical capabilities to the limit. The cast runs the gamut from Olympic and national athletes, to military personnel, martial artists, and faces from the entertainment industry — think actors, K-pop idols and TV personalities. Amotti (Kim Hae-jong), CrossFit enthusiast and YouTuber

Born Kim Hae-jong, the CrossFit athlete, bodybuilder and Youtuber goes by Amotti for his on-screen and fitness pursuits. Hailed as one of the leading contenders since the start of the show, the 31-year-old has a large following on YouTube, where he posts regularly about his workouts and other fitness content.

Hong Beom-seok, Physical: 100 Season 1 contestant

Returning to the show is Hong Beom-seok, who sought to redeem himself after an early elimination in the first season. The ex-firefighter and rescue specialist was also a former special forces soldier - so you can expect remarkable displays of endurance and strength. Andre Jin Coquillard, national rugby player

Born in Seoul to an American father and South Korean mother, Andre Jin has proved to be one of the stronger contenders on the show. He was the first naturalised foreign player on South Korea's national rugby team, and represented the country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Kang So-yeon, Single's Inferno season 1 contestant and boxing gym owner

If you caught season one of Single's Inferno, you might recognise Kang So-yeon from the Netflix hit reality dating show. Also a former K-pop idol, the TV personality now owns a boxing gym and has dabbled in various martial arts and sports like soccer. Watch to see where all that fitness and martial arts training takes her in the survival programme.

Kim Dong-hyun, former MMA Fighter and TV personality

The 41-year-old MMA fighter is well-known in South Korea (especially judging from the applause he received from the other contestants during his entrance) for being the first Korean to fight in the UFC. After retiring from the octagon, he has appeared on various variety shows such as Amazing Saturday and The Return of Superman. He is currently married with three children.

Lee Jae-yoon, actor

Korean-Canadian actor Lee Jae-yoon is a familiar face on the small screen, having taken on roles in K-dramas such as Weightlifting Fairy Kim BokJoo and Alice. From the posts on his Instagram page (and his ripped physique), the 39-year-old is quite the fitness junkie, and has earned a brown belt in jiu-jitsu.

Jung Ji-hyun, former Olympic wrestler

Jung Ji-hyun is a retired South Korean wrestler who won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greco-Roman wrestling. In the 2014 Asian Games, he also won the gold medal in the men’s 71kg Greco-Roman category, giving Korea its first winning title in eight years. While slighter in stature compared to many other of the Physical: 100 contestants, he definitely gave them a run for their money and bested many with his physical abilities and tenacity.

Justin Harvey, actor

South African actor Justin Harvey, who's based in Korea, may not be a professional athlete but he sure impressed with his athleticism in the show. He has had roles in several South Korean movies and television series, including The Witch: Part 2 and Ashfall.

Shim Yu-ri, MMA fighter

MMA champion Shim Yu-ri dropped jaws when she challenged a male contestant (who was bigger and heavier than her) to the wrestling match and came out victorious. The 29-year-old chose to take on FBI diplomat Hunter Lee, using both techniques, strength and pure grit to win the match. The current ROAD FC title holder in the Atomweight division, she made her professional MMA debut in 2017.

Thanos (Kim Min-su), bodybuilder

It's hard to miss Kim Min-su, dubbed Korea's Thanos, on the show with his hulking physique. The bodybuilder was formerly a Special Forces Officer, and has competed in the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB). His wife (yes, he's married) is also a bodybuilder, and the pair are both fitness YouTubers.

Shin Soo-ji, national rhythmic athlete

Shin, a former South Korean rhythmic gymnast and bowler, made history as the first South Korean rhythmic gymnast to qualify for the All-around final at the 2009 World Championships. Following her retirement from competitive gymnastics, she transitioned into a role as a commentator at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Lee Jang-jun, K-pop idol

"Many think that K-pop idols are scrawny," says Lee Jang-jun, a member of K-pop group Golden Child, on the show. But the 27-year-old rapper and singer is bent on proving them wrong. He is known among fans for his athleticism and strong physical condition, and you'll get to see it in the series.

Park Kwang-jae, actor

Park Kwang-jae, known for supporting roles in shows like Moving (2023), Kill Boksoon (2023) and Vigilante, has also joined the cast of the reality programme. The actor was formerly a professional basketball player and he's on the show to prove his mettle.

Lee Kyu-ho, actor and TV personality

Another actor set to demonstrate his athleticism this season is Lee Kyu-ho who has appeared in various K-dramas such as Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area and Dr. Romantic. He has also appeared in movies like zombie flick #Alive and The Outlaws.
