Prime Spots To Catch The National Day Fireworks For FREE
You'll want to head there early to snag a spot

If you didn't manage to score tickets to this year's National Day Parade on Aug 9, but still want to get in on the festivities (and the anticipated fireworks display), we've got your back. Held at the National Stadium this year for the first time in a decade, NDP 2026's closing fireworks display will be set off in the Kallang Basin area, outside the National Stadium’s West Opening.
In the lead-up to the actual National Day Parade, there’s also the NE Show (July 18), as well as two preview shows on July 25 and Aug 1.
If you're willing to brave the crowds (make sure to head there early to snag a spot), these prime spots around the Kallang Basin area offer magnificent and FREE vantage points:
Where To Watch The NDP Fireworks For Free
Stadium Riverside Park
This is the closest public viewing area, offering wide, unobstructed waterfront views across Kallang Basin. There’s also plenty of space along the promenade for a comfortable view.
Tanjong Rhu Promenade
If you don’t mind being a little farther from the fireworks launch site, this scenic waterfront park rewards you with stunning views of both the fireworks and Singapore’s skyline — great for photo ops. It’s also conveniently located just outside Tanjong Rhu MRT Station, with toilets nearby for added convenience when the little ones (and you) need a bathroom break.
Water Sports Centre
Set right along the Kallang Basin waterfront, you’ll enjoy an elevated front-row view of the aerial display with few obstructions, while the spacious promenade gives you more room to spread out than some of the narrower waterfront paths nearby. Another bonus? You’re just a short walk from the toilets and the many dining options at Kallang Wave Mall, making it easy to grab dinner or takeaway before chope-ing your spot for the show.
Near Nicoll Highway Station
Head to the waterfront grass patches just across the road from Nicoll Highway MRT Station (Exit B). Facing the Kallang Basin, this spot offers expansive views of the fireworks, with the skyline adding to the backdrop. Bring along a picnic mat, grab some snacks, and settle in early — it’s a great place to enjoy the show without being right in the middle of the crowds.
Golden Mile Tower’s carpark (L5)
This hidden gem — well, maybe not so hidden anymore — is a little further from all the action, but that’s part of its appeal. The elevated vantage point affords a sweeping view of the fireworks, and the sheltered space means you won’t have to worry about the weather while you wait for the show to begin.
