As electricity tariff continues climbing, one can’t help but wonder if their home’s powered by one of the cheapest electricity price plans in Singapore. Find out if it’s time to make the switch.
The regulated electricity tariff set by SP Group for 1 April – 30 June 2023 has fallen again, and now stands at 29.62 cents per kWh (incl. GST), from the previous quarter of 31.72 cents per kWh (include. GST).
The decrease, according to SP Group, is mainly due to “lower energy costs compared with the previous quarter.” As such, SP Group predicts that the average monthly electricity bill for a four-room HDB flat will decrease by S$2.63, before GST.
That being said, the decrease in electricity prices in Singapore isn’t restricted to households and businesses that are subscribed to SP Services.
Cheaper electricity plan prices
With a lower electricity tariff, Open Electricity Market (OEM) retailers can also afford to lower the prices of their electricity plans, which will benefit paying consumers like you and me.
As of the time of writing, consumers are free to take their pick from a total of eight energy providers in the OEM.
