Simple, spacious, practical – these were the three keywords the homeowner of this three-room HDB resale flat had in mind when she approached Space Factor to renovate and design her space.

This flat – situated in Mei Ling Street – was a blank canvas to start with, so interior designer Dolly created a cosy yet airy atmosphere with a palette of predominantly blues, greys, and whites. The resulting look is a modern oasis that the homeowner looks forward to coming home to.

In the living room, Dolly used warm tones for the flooring and the doors for an earthy vibe. These also lend balance to the cool-toned palette in the rest of the home.

A pronounced wood grain for the doors and cabinets, plus a carefully-curated mix of tiles in the bathroom, lend visual interest to the home. “A balanced and harmonious contrast in texture is like music to interior design,” says Dolly.
