We all know how hard it is to keep our little ones entertained. I mean, they never really seem to run out of energy, do they? If you’re planning a short trip to Johor Bahru soon and are out of ideas of where you can bring them, you’ve come to the right place. These JB malls boast kid-friendly activities like indoor playgrounds, arcades, go-karting and more, especially if you need a break (and some peace and quiet) after you do your shopping.
Here are the top Johor Bahru malls with indoor playgrounds and other great amenities for your children to create a memorable trip for the whole fam!
Prices and currency exchanges are accurate at the time of writing.
1. Paradigm Mall
Just a 20-minute drive from Woodlands Checkpoint lies Paradigm Mall. Located in Skudai, Paradigm Mall spans over 1.3 million sq ft, so you can expect a deluge of things to do here. From beauty and fashion to home decor and tech, you’ll find a shop for every kind of shopper!
But what stands out from the rest is its large offerings catered to kids, like the Blue Ice Skating Rink and Utopia Jungle World, which can accommodate the little ones and older kids, or even adults.

Paradigm Mall — Utopia Jungle World
Utopia Jungle World has just undergone a massive facelift, with a soft re-opening in March unveiling a refreshed space packed with new attractions for kids of all ages.
The revamped edutainment park now features Malaysia’s first magical Avatar jungle–themed playground, where little ones can wander through glowing pathways, towering trees and immersive light effects that make the whole space feel like a fantasy rainforest come to life.
It’s also home to Malaysia’s first interactive nature sea sand experience, so kids can dig, build and play with specially designed “sand” that mimics a day at the beach, minus the heat and mess.
On top of that, Utopia lays claim to the largest ball pool in JB, which is a guaranteed hit with toddlers and older children who want to dive, splash and slide into a sea of colourful balls for hours.
To sweeten the deal, the park is running a pre–grand opening early bird promo ahead of its official grand opening in May 2026, with 20% off memberships — a great option for Singaporean parents who hop over to JB frequently.
The Standard Explorer pass now goes for RM120 (S$38.64) and includes three entries, while the Premium Explorer at RM240 (S$77.28) comes with eight entries and extras such as popcorn vouchers and socks on registration.

Paradigm Mall — Blue Ice Skating Rink
If you have older kids or wish to partake in an activity for the whole family, try ice skating at Blue Ice Skating Rink! It doesn’t matter if you’re a newbie or an expert. In fact, it becomes a better bonding activity for the fam if everyone learns (and falls) together, am I right?
Prices start from RM45 (S$14.49) for a two-hour session, with a pair of rental skates included. For all timed sessions, check out their website here. Be sure to bring your own socks and gloves. Otherwise, you can rent them for RM7 (S$2.25) each. There’s even Bobby, their helpful skate seal available for rent at RM30 (S$9.66) per hour if the little ones need the extra help.

2. Toppen Shopping Centre
Located next to Aeon Mall Tebrau City, Toppen Shopping Centre is four storeys high and sports a unique rooftop complete with a large community piazza and a garden. Home to the only Ikea in JB, you probably won’t miss this mall if you drive past.
A shopping haven and entertainment hub for Singaporeans and locals alike, this mall has shops like Daiso, Decathlon, Harvey Norman, J.Co Donuts, a cinema with in-built speakers and more! It also has a variety of kid-friendly amenities, like rock climbing, a skate park for skating and even an outdoor splash park. FOR FREE.
📍 Toppen Shopping Centre
đź•’ 10am-10pm, daily
Toppen Shopping Centre — Bouncetopia
Bouncetopia at Toppen Shopping Centre is a fresh addition to JB’s family-friendly scene, having opened its doors only about a month ago. This high-energy, sports-inspired inflatable playground brings together bouncing, climbing and racing for non-stop action that feels more like a fun day out than a workout.
The arena is packed with adrenaline-pumping inflatables, obstacle runs, giant slides and interactive challenge zones, all designed to help kids build agility, balance, coordination and stamina through play.
Ideal for children aged two to 17, Bouncetopia Toppen sits in a fully indoor, air-conditioned space, so you can let the little ones loose without worrying about the heat or rain. With plenty of room for friendly races and timed challenges, it’s perfect for boosting confidence and encouraging active movement — and exactly the kind of place where “just 10 more minutes” quickly turns into an entire afternoon.
Tickets can be bought on Klook, with options starting from S$8.39 for a one-hour single admission, S$10.65 for two hours, and S$13.55 if you prefer unlimited playtime in a day. Adults accompanying the kids will also need an admission ticket, which is priced at S$3.89.
📍 Bouncetopia
đź•’ 10am to 10pm, daily
Toppen Shopping Centre — TGV Cinemas
For a fuss-free movie outing with young kids, head to the Junior cinema at TGV Toppen, which comes with its very own playroom just behind the seats. The hall is designed specifically for little moviegoers, with dimmer lights and softer audio so the experience feels gentler and less overwhelming for toddlers and younger children. Practical touches like an in-hall kids’ toilet and diaper changing stations make it easy for parents to handle bathroom breaks without missing too much of the movie.
Tickets are wallet-friendly too, priced from RM21 ($6.76) for adults and RM15 ($4.83) for kids, so families can enjoy a comfy, kid-centric cinema experience at a fraction of what you’d usually pay in Singapore.
📍 TGV Cinemas
Toppen Shopping Centre — Wet Play Area
Is your little one always running high on energy? Let them go wild at the rooftop playgrounds, featuring both a dry and wet area. With slides, bridges and mini obstacle courses for them to explore, they will never get bored!
Expect water fountains and big buckets filled with water that will splash down after it’s full so the little ones can beat the heat! Don’t worry about washing up after; there’s a shower area available for use. Just remember to remember to bring a change of clothes.

3. R&F Mall
If you’re crossing over from Woodlands Checkpoint and can’t wait for the fun to start right after immigration, R&F Mall is one of the closest malls you can head to without needing to take a cab. It’s connected to the CIQ via a sheltered linkway, so you can pop in almost immediately after stamping your passport and take a breather in the air-con before deciding where to go next.
R&F Mall — Laser Battle Johor
The main highlight for families here is Laser Battle (which moved over from City Square Mall), and it’s a must-try if you’ve got older kids or teens who love a bit of friendly competition.Â
The arena spans around 5,000 sq ft and is touted as one of the largest laser tag centres in Asia, with pulsing lights, sound effects and maze-like corners that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a sci-fi action movie. You can choose from more than 50 game modes, including classics like capture-the-flag and team deathmatch, plus tactical variations with base attacks, mines and targets to keep things fresh even for repeat players.
Prices are straightforward too: you can book your slot on Klook for S$11.29 per person for a 10-minute game, which may sound short but is honestly more than enough to leave everyone panting and sweaty by the end of the round.
That said, the mall itself is pretty quiet, so it doesn’t quite have the buzz or variety you’d get at livelier spots like City Square or Paradigm Mall. This mall works best as a quick stop to play a round of laser tag, maybe grab a drink or snack, and then move on to another mall for the rest of your JB day out.
4. Komtar JBCC
A lesser-known mall right beside City Square Mall, you’ll find Komtar JBCC, which is smaller in size but still offers many things for all to do. Whether you’re looking to shop or dine, this mall has got you covered with its numerous shops and restaurants, including Brands Outlet, Marks & Spencer and more.
If you’ve got kids that love playgrounds, they will absolutely enjoy Kidz Republic — a large indoor playground where the Angry Birds theme park used to be.
📍 Komtar JBCC
đź•’ 10am to 10pm, daily
Komtar JBCC — Kidz Republic
Get ready to dive into a dino-sized adventure at one of Johor Bahru’s largest Jurassic-themed indoor parks. Little explorers can conquer giant slides — including a towering 10ft slide — soar across the Flying Fox, and tackle climbing zones and obstacle challenges that burn off plenty of energy.
They can bounce around trampoline and foam pit zones, zoom along a race track and driving play area, and dig into ball pits and sandpit play for more sensory fun. For something a little calmer, there’s a Builders Village for block play plus creative zones for colouring, crafts and clay art, so kids get a mix of active play and hands-on creativity in one spot.
Tickets are sold via Klook, with flexible day passes that let you leave and re-enter within the same day until closing. General tickets (10am to 10pm on weekends, public and school holidays) start from S$6.45 for adults, S$9.65 for youths aged 13 to 17, and S$16.09 for children aged two to 12.
If you’re heading down in the evening, the Night Owl ticket (6pm to 10pm) is a more budget-friendly option, with prices from S$3.25 for adults, S$6.45 for youths and S$12.89 for kids.
📍 Kidz Republic

5. Tebrau Aeon Mall
A 20- to 30-minute drive from Woodlands Checkpoint lies Tebrau Aeon Mall.
If I could describe it, I would say that it is essentially the Vivocity of JB. And when we say it’s huge, it’s really huge, to the point where you can literally get lost while trying to find your way. If you just want to station yourself at one mall for the entire day, I would highly recommend this mall.
Tebrau Aeon Mall has a ton of retail shops, including famous brands like 6ixty8ight, Adidas, Cotton On and local favourite F.O.S. In terms of food, you’ll be spoilt for choice, with offerings like Ayam Penyet Express, Arashi Shabu-Shabu, and Ichiban Ramen.
If you need groceries for your short staycay in JB, pick up all your necessities at Jusco, with its endless rows of food products. There’s also a cinema where you can catch the latest blockbuster films.
Kids will be equally satisfied with the mall once you bring them to Fanpekka, and you’ll see why below:

Get in your child’s good books by simply bringing them to Fanpekka for a whole day of magical fun.
Sporting a giant ball pit complete with a slide, your little one will spend hours here. This area itself is huge, even offering a mini obstacle course to allow your kids to navigate the elements in a safe area. There are also other areas where they can pretend to be a shop owner mending their own booth or hide in a castle as a fairy princess.
In fact, the Finnish-themed indoor playground also just had its grand reopening in November 2025, with new additions such as the Bouncer (bouncy castle slide), a huge inflatable crocodile, a multi swing, a new rest corner (with massage chairs!) and a sand park.
Prices start from RM72 (S$23.18) on weekdays and RM80 (S$25.76) on weekends for kids aged 12 years old and below. Adults can also enter for RM12 (S$3.86).

Only a 12-minute drive from the Malaysian Checkpoint, Mid Valley Southkey serves as a popular destination for Singaporeans as it's a new-ish mall with a large variety of shops.
Sports junkies can find their fitness apparel here from various outlet stores, along with the usual suspects like Watsons and Guardian.
Dining options are aplenty too, with eateries and restaurants like Marrybrown, ThaiExpress, and Meng Meng Roasted Duck. Children will especially love it here for their kid-friendly activities and shops like go-kart and Mr. Toy, a toy store selling very affordable playthings for kids.

If your kids aren’t big enough to try the standard go-karting, you can drop by Kiddy F1 Circuit to channel their inner Lewis Hamilton.
The place features a 200m indoor track, where prices start from RM35 (S$11.27) for a single eight-minute ride. Seatbelts have to be fastened at all times, and the maximum speed for the karts is 8km/h, ensuring a safe and fun environment for your kiddos.
Children below 100cm have to be accompanied by an adult on the kart, but you are still encouraged to ride with your kids on their first try.
📍 Kiddy F1 Circuit

Mid Valley Southkey — Mr. Toy
Toy stores are every kid’s dreamland, and this includes Mr. Toy, which offers a wide range of toys. From educational toys and mental stimulation games for toddlers to advanced building sets and intricate motor cars for the older ones, your child will definitely find a toy of their preference.Â
The best part? Its toys are very affordable, so you won’t have to worry about burning a hole in your wallet when they break your heart with their dramatic cries and whines (we get it!).

Funtopia has a large ball pit for all kids to thrash around in. This place also allows your little ones to explore their creativity and role-play in different occupations at the supermarket station, police station, fire station, hospital station, and more! There’s also a trampoline area and a “sand area” with beads to stimulate sand.
As for ticket prices, most of the published rates online date back about two years, and with inflation and changing promo structures, they’re likely no longer accurate. We’d suggest treating those as a rough reference only and checking directly with the playground or booking platforms for the latest pricing before you go.
