If your kids love getting hands-on with art and craft, the Children’s Museum Singapore’s brand-new makerspace is worth a visit. As part of SG60 celebrations, Play + Make is a space for young visitors to explore Singapore’s food heritage through imaginative play, creative expression, and sensory learning.

The space transforms the museum’s Discovery Room into a vibrant, interactive zone where kids can design their own kamcheng (a Peranakan porcelain container), make different types of kueh, and throw their very own kueh tea party. There’s even a dress-up station where they can assemble outfits on mannequins and a mini-stage to bring their stories to life.

Activities rotate throughout the year. Look forward to creating paper dolls (Jul to Sep), designing crockery (Oct to Dec), and weaving crafts (Jan to Mar). Beyond drop-in crafts, CMSG will also roll out special storytelling sessions, hands-on workshops, and even curated learning journeys with real-life makers from September onwards.

And while you’re there, check out the Hawkerverse exhibition, which offers a playful, meaningful way for little ones to connect with Singapore’s culture through everyday stories and traditions.

Lost Islands at The Artground

Step into a world of mythical creatures and hidden tales at Lost Islands, the latest immersive exhibition at The Artground. Created in collaboration with Indonesian artist Rachmi Dewi Pertama, this vibrant installation invites kids to climb atop a giant turtle, explore two-storey folktale books, and dash through a draped batik wonderland — all while learning about Singapore and Indonesia’s shared cultural heritage.

Little ones can tiptoe through Baby Forest Island, inspired by the legend of Sang Nila Utama, or brave The Mythical Dragon’s Back, a textured trail of tactile play. And if your child is a budding performer, rest assured that they’ll love dressing up and acting out stories at the Island Theatre.

What makes this even more special is the UOB Learning Playzone, where kids explore money concepts through play. They can play pretend and be fishers or shopkeepers, track earnings on punch cards, and spend “currency” at a marketplace boat.

Note: This experience is best suited for children aged 0-9.

When: Apr 19, 2025 to Mar 31, 2026
Where: 90 Goodman Road, #01-40 BLK J, Singapore 439053
