Think Vietnamese pho and silky rice noodles with slivers of meat (usually beef) in a broth come to mind. But at vegan restaurant The Kind Bowl, which has recently opened a new outlet at MyVillage at Serangoon Gardens, you'll get a flavourful, piping hot bowl of pho with plant-based toppings like shredded “no chicken “ seitan (wheat gluten-based meat substitute) and grilled oyster mushrooms. For an upgraded bowl, go for the outlet-exclusive Premium Pho.

Other mains include crisp banh mi stuffed with seitan, and a Chic Rice that replaces chicken with beancurd and spicy young bamboo shoots. Sides range from the moreishly spicy and crunchy oyster mushroom fritters to freshly made summer rolls stuffed with soy-based seitan and tofu.

The Kind Bowl is at #B1-03 myVillage, 1 Maju Ave, Singapore 556679. Visit its website for more information.

If you've enjoyed Waa Cow!'s flame-torched wagyu beef bowls, make its new yakiniku concept within MyVillage at Serangoon Gardens your next go-to.

Sit down to a selection of beef cuts, such as karubi, oyster blade, striploin, and ox tongue, as well as various pork and chicken options, and sashimi platters. Pair them with house-made dipping sauces, from garlic butter teriyaki to spicy miso with leek. For carb-based sustenance, the restaurant also has truffle-flavoured rice to complement the meats.

A vibrant mural that depicts the growth of the brand further enlivens the striking blue interiors. Pay close attention, because there’s a promo code hidden within the mural. Key it in during your order to redeem a complimentary Signature All Dips Platter. Hint: it has five characters and the last is “!”.

Waa Cow! Yakiniku is at #02-10/11 Myvillage, 1 Maju Avenue, Singapore 556679.

The kitchen's manned by executive dim sum chef Wong Kok Shyong, formerly group dim sum chef of Peony Jade, who serves up an array of classic and inventive dim sim delights.

Think a tureen-shaped mantou that holds rich wok-fried chilli crab sauce, a trio of colourful har gow (shrimp dumplings), and Yuan Yang Love Swans with Golden ‘Lychee’ Ball, which are crispy swan-shaped pastries with savoury fillings. For taro lovers, the buttery Baked Orh Nee Tart with Gingko Nut is the eatery's signature.
