Foodies, mark your calendars. From Aug 27 to Sept 12, 2021, the highly anticipated Singapore Food Festival (SFF) 2021 will return for its 28th edition.

Spanning three weekends, the local festival celebrates local cuisine and F&B talent, and will be introducing over 50 gastronomic and drinking experiences.

Themed 'Savour Singapore in Every Bite', it takes on its first hybrid format (it was held entirely online last year due to the pandemic) and will be jam-packed with virtual food tours, live-streamed masterclasses, and physical workshops.

Here's what to expect.

Want to learn how to cook like a pro?

Hop on the nine free-to-view live masterclasses hosted on SFF 2021’s Facebook page or sign up for intimate and interactive sessions with renowned chefs by joining the nine pay-to-view live masterclasses.

You can learn how to whip up an inventive take on the oyster omelette (topped with roast pork!) from MasterChef Singapore 2018 judge Bjorn Shen of Artichoke and Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef JP Anglo of Sarsa, bake a buah keluak babka with chef Maxine Ngooi of Tigerlily Patisserie, or make ravioli from scratch with chef Jeremy Gillon of one Michelin-starred restaurant Jag.

Selected masterclasses will even offer ingredient boxes and food bundles that can be delivered to you two days before the event.

Take a virtual trip around Singapore's foodie enclaves, farms, and more.

For those of you who prefer taking part in the festivities from the comfort of your couch, you can look forward to a tour around the soil and hydroponics farm of Kok fah Technology Farm, draw inspiration from recipe videos like Kitchen Insider: Sustenir (which showcases how you can incorporate local produce into everyday dishes), as well as join host Nikki Muller to uncover the culinary gems of Little India and Tiong Bahru.

Or explore Singapore's culinary heritage on foot (as part of the physical Partner Events), from the Heritage Tour of Little India to a tour of Kim Guan Guan Factory Tour, one of Singapore’s oldest kopi (coffee) suppliers.

You can also learn how to make your own traditional kueh at Rainbow Lapis' workshop, or shake up a cocktail or two with Museum of Ice Cream’s MOIC Cocktail and Ice Cream Pairing Workshop. And just to add a little mystery, there'll be Secret Suppers with mystery menus at restaurants around the island.

Vegans, don't miss out on the Singapore Vegan Festival, with workshops, panel discussions, and limited period plant-based menus at various restaurants.

Of course, there'll also be scrumptious nosh that you can have delivered to your home and all ready to eat - just check out the 'Singapore Food Festival Special Dishes' located under the 'Shop' tab on the festival's official website. Tuck into plates from local restaurants, like Satay Padang Burrito, Mala Chilli Crab Noodles, and Barramundi Fish 'Soup'.

Or bag yourself some of SFF's exclusive merchandise from its partner F&B brands. There's the Kopi Granola from Local small-batch granola brand, Nommish together with Kim Guan Guan, as well as LiHO TEA’s Singa-Pandan Lime and Singa-Pandan Shake, for instance, which will be available in LiHO stores in Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, and Shanghai.
