Juicy Five-Spice Sticky Chicken Drumsticks That Are Full Of Flavour

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 8 chicken drumsticks (1 kg)
  • ⅔ cup (160 ml) hoisin sauce
  • ½ cup (125 ml) orange juice
  • 2 tbsps honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1½ tsps Chinese five-spice
  • Pinch dried chilli flakes
  • 2 tbsps soy sauce
  • 2 tbsps tomato sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed

Steps

01. Heat oil in a 6 litre (24 cups) pressure cooker. Add chicken to cooker; cook, turning, until browned all over. Add remaining ingredients; turn chicken to coat in the sauce.

02. Secure lid. Bring cooker to high pressure. Reduce heat to stabilise pressure. Cook for 25 mins.

Quickly release pressure according to manufacturer’s instructions; remove lid. Remove chicken from cooker. Bring sauce to the boil.

Boil, uncovered, for 8 mins or until sauce thickens.

04. Serve chicken drizzled with sauce.

Suitable to freeze at the end of step 3.
