10 Hawker Stalls For Delicious Rojak In Singapore
Tuck into this refreshing yet umami-packed salad at these spots
By guoxiongho -
Much like satay beehoon, rojak is a dish that cannot be judged based on how it looks. Rojak is fundamentally a salad composed of various crunchy fruits, vegetables, and carbohydrates ranging from pineapples and turnips to you tiao and tau pok. The pitch-black dressing is where the magic is as it made by balancing the heady umami funk of fermented shrimp paste with sugar, lime juice, and torch ginger flowers. A final flourish of crushed roasted peanuts further adds to the crunch while imbuing the dish with an oily aroma. Keep scrolling as we shar 10 hawker stalls to indulge in the dark and delicious allure of rojak in Singapore.
