This spicy savoury dip is a restaurant-worthy concoction deserving of endless hotpot and roast gatherings at home. Features sesame paste, fermented chilli beancurd, crushed peanuts and more.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsps sesame paste
  • 2 tbsps sha cha jiang
  • 1 tsp fermented chilli beancurd
  • 1 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsps light soya sauce
  • 3 red chilli padi, sliced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (10 g)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (2 garlic cloves)
  • 2 tbsps sesame oil
  • 2 tbsps crushed peanuts
  • 3 g fresh coriander, coarsely chopped
  • 1 stalk of spring onion (3 g), sliced
  • ½ tsp toasted sesame seeds

Steps

01. In a bowl, add the sesame paste, sha cha jiang and fermented chilli beancurd. Lightly mash up the fermented chilli beancurd and mix well.

02. Add the dried chilli flakes, sugar, salt and light soya sauce. Mix well.

03. Add the chilli padi, ginger, garlic and sesame oil. Mix well.

04. Add the crushed peanuts, coriander and spring onion. Mix well.

05. Garnish with the toasted sesame seeds.
