Visit Hyatt' Singapores website to browse the vouchers and deals.
You'll know Tiong Bahru Bakery (TBB) for its amazing croissants, pastries, and sourdough creations, but come November, it'll also be rolling out a sourdough workshop with classes for novices to those who have already mastered the basics.
The workshop, held at Tiong Bahru Bakery Foothills, is headed by the enthusiastic and approachable chef Paul Albert, who's the brand's resident sourdough expert and baker. You'll be taken through the sourdough and fermentation journey, right from the flour used to maintaining a starter (you'll be using chef Paul's 160-year-old starter) and the baking process. And of course, you'll get to bring home your own sourdough creation, too.
With each session, you'll also receive a Starter Kit, as well as a TBB pastry and a drink during the refreshment break.
Prices are from $207.85 per person for a beginner's class, held Wed to Fri, 2pm to 6pm. Intermediate classes ($300) and advanced classes (coming soon) will be held on weekends. Classes are available for booking during the soft launch stage (Oct 2021) at $165.85 with a smaller starter kit.
Tiong Bahru Bakery Foothills is at The Foot Hills (Fort Canning Park), 70 River Valley Road, #01-05, Singapore 179037. Visit its website.
If you're in the mood for an extravagant afternoon tea affair, the newly revamped Republic Bar, with elegant decor and a glass ceiling in the lounge area, sets the tone for a memorable indulgence.
The experience starts with an amuse-bouche and a Queen's Scones Tea Mocktail that's a delightful botanical blend of Seedlip Garden, strawberry jam, citrus, orgeat and cucumber.
Then there are the scones, which are made light and fluffy here, followed by savoury and sweet treats served on a contemporary five-tier stand. You're recommended to start with the savouries; tuck into a carrot roll stuffed with wagyu pastrami, and an addictive truffle egg mayo with smoked heirloom tomatoes and cheese tucked in between fluffy white bread.
The sweets don't disappoint either, from a Chocolate Raspberry morsel that perfectly balances tart and sweet notes, to a decadent Gianduja Chocolate, as well as a boozy Champagne Cream with Jelly, and Honey Lime Berries. For the ultimate extravagance, you can opt to savour your afternoon treats with a glass of champagne.
$58++ per person. From $77++ per person with champagne. Available daily from 2pm to 5.30pm. Republic Bar is at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, Marina Bay 7, Raffles Ave, 039799. Visit its website for reservations or more information.
Hotpots are great for communal sharing. But with the current two-pax dining rule in place, new hotpot place Fufu Pot is changing it up with new one-set individual pot offerings.
Set to open on Oct 8 at Plaza Singapura, it'll dish up eight tummy-warming broths that nod to various Asian cuisines. Think Stinky Tofu, Korean Army Stew, Tonkotsu Miso, White Curry, Sichuan Mala, Collagen, Tomato, and Mushroom ($12.90 to $24.90), all served fully cooked with various curated ingredients as well as rice. You can also add on with your choice of hot sides, seafood, meats, and vegetables.
And if that's not enough to fill your belly, there are a plethora of sides to accompany your meal, from Korean-style Japchae with King Oyster Mushroom to Lollipop Chicken with Thai Sweet Chilli and Taiwanese Fried Stinky Tofu.
For the opening month, you can enjoy soups at special prices of up to 60 per cent off.
Fufu Pot is #06-07 Plaza Singapura, 68 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238839.
Over at newly opened restaurant and bar NY Verden, opened by the second-gen owner of Old Street Bak Kut Teh, you can customise wood-fired grilled meats with your preferred firewood choices – Jarrah, Hickory, Oak, Cherry and Applewood.
Jarrah wood, for instance, imparts a strong smoky flavour to beef (like a dry-aged Wagyu Tomahawk), while applewood is recommended for poultry and seafood thanks to its fruity notes and sweet aroma.
The restaurant and bar, situated at Jewel Changi Airport, also boasts other stellar plates; think starters like Marinated Watermelon ($20) topped with fresh ikura, and Smoked Beetroot Tartare & Burrata ($28). For mains, the house signature Crab Tagliolini ($30) that's cooked in a rich lobster broth, and Iberico Pork Jowl ($32) with meat that's been cooked sous-vide for 72 hours are great options.
NY Verden is at 78 Airport Boulevard,03-227/228, Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore 819666.
With over 380 stores found globally, Taiwanese hand-shaken beverage brand, Don't Yell At Me, is now headed for our shores. Co-founded by Taiwanese variety show personality, the brand is best known for its enticing layered concoctions, such as the crowd-pleasing Winter Melon Chrysanthemum Tea, Osmanthus Thé Au Lait, and Grapefruit and Lychee Fruit Tea.
You can look forward to a minimalistic cafe concept that's set to be nestled within Orchard Central. And alongside its teas, it'll be serving up coffee beverages and sweet treats like the Tiramisu Café Au Lait, Dark Fudge Brownies, and French Butter Almond Cakes.
Dont Yell At Me is slated to open on Oct 29, 2021.
