Japanese food lovers, there are plenty of new options to tickle your tastebuds this week, from Amazing Hokkaido's uni and negitoro sushi 'hotdogs' to a Hokkaido fair at Japanese restaurant Sun & Moon with mouthwatering seafood and desserts.
Plus, you don't want to miss the Michelin Kitchen Guide Takeover, with crossovers between Michelin Plate and Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants and street food establishments!
Amazing Hokkaido in Robertson Quay has rolled out a cheeky hybrid of a hotdog and sushi, or what they bill the 'Sushi Dog'. The sushi dogs comprise short-grain sushi rice, crisp seaweed; enjoy your with fresh toppings of either creamy bafun uni (sea urchin, $29.90) or negitoro (fatty tuna, $24.40), then finished off with a generous dollop of salmon roe.
From now until Feb 11, 2021, both the offerings will go at the promotional price of $12 each (Uni Dog UP$29.90; Negitoro Dog UP$24.40). Note: Orders are limited to one Uni Dog or Negitoro Dog per customer during the promotional period.
Amazing Hokkaido is at 30 Robertson Quay #01-16, Riverside View, Singapore 238251. Opening hours are only from Wednesday to Monday, 530pm to 11pm.
If you can't get enough of signature Hokkaido fare, Sun With Moon is the place to head to right now. From now till the end of February 2021, its seasonal 14th Hokkaido Fair is back featuring seasonal menu items.
Highlights include Yaki Tarabagani (grilled red king crab leg, $28.80), as well as Hokkaido scallops with asparagus ($14.80), a hot pot with red king crab legs and Aomori scallops ($32.80), and Mega Chashu Ramen ($16.80). There are also Sapporo Warakudo desserts imported directly from Sapporo, or the Hokkaido Milk Kuzu Mochi ($7.80) to end your meal on a sweet note.

Ever thought of seeing a tie-up between your favourite Michelin Plate and Bib Gourmand restaurants and street food establishments? It's happening now with the Michelin Guide Kitchen Takeover, a partnership between The Michelin Guide and the Singapore Tourism Board.
The first to kick off the series will be Modern Indian grill restaurant Thevar and zi char stalwart Keng Eng Kee, who have teamed up to offer zi char classics infused with traditional Indian ingredients and spices; think coffee and caramelised tamarind pork belly, as well as spiced curry leaf and coconut chutney cereal prawns.
Other collabs will see innovative dishes like the BBQ Dream Duo ‘Shuang Ping’, comprising char siew from Chef Kang's Noodle House with Yen Yakiniku’s A5 Omi Wagyu, as well as Silverhill Farm duck takoyaki by Cure's chef Andrew Walsh and chef Teppei Yamashita of Man Man.
Japanese restaurant Akira Back will be teaming up with Song Fa Bak Kut Teh to dish up the likes of Ngoh Hiang Maki and Bak Kut Teh Hotteok, an inventive take on the traditional Korean pancake.

Best known for itsegg tarts, pineapple buns, Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun and milk tea, Joy Luck Teahouse will be opening its fourth outlet at Parkway Parade.
Diners can also look forward to its first-ever celebrity collaboration with veteran Singapore actor Li Nanxing, which will see the Dried Scallop Hae Bee Hiam Chee Cheong Fun. Exclusively available at Parkway Parade, the restaurant's silky chee cheong fun is topped with the actor's own rendition of hae bee hiam for a spicy, local twist.
And to usher in Chinese New Year, the seasonal Gold Egg Tarts made with 22 carat French Gold Flakes will be available for sale. Both the Dried Scallop Hae Bee Hiam Chee Cheong Fun ($4.80) and Gold Egg Tarts ($6 per piece to $28.80 for six pieces) are available for a limited time only, with the egg tarts available at Parkway Parade from Jan 22 to 24, and all outlets from Jan 24, 2021.

Last-minute craving for hot pot? You can now make your way to your nearest 7-Eleven store to curb that craving. The convenience store has rolled out a selection of personal hot pots with three flavours; Mala Chicken, Tomato Seafood, and Herbal Chicken.
The Mala Chicken comes with a mala broth base, with spicy chicken chunks, luncheon meat, veggies, and tofu, while the Tomato Seafood has veggies together with succulent seafood like prawns, clams, crab sticks as well as mushrooms. For traditionalists, there's the Herbal Chicken soup made with a blend of seven herbs, with chicken thigh, black fungus, wolfberries, vegetables and tofu. All come with vermicelli to make it a heart meal for one.
There's minimal waiting time, too - all you have to do is pop one into the in-store microwave for two and a half minutes.
From now till Feb 16, 2021, these hot pot items which are now in stores are at the promotional price of $4.50 each (UP: $4.80 each).
