The Middle East collection by Louis Vuitton – a series of luxury fragrances inspired by the scents of flowers found in the Middle East that debuted in 2018 – has welcomed its fifth eau de parfum to the collection. The Fleur Du Desert is created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and features the scents of three flowers native to the region that has been widely used in the world of perfumery for ages. The sweet and intoxicating perfume blends notes of jasmine, orange blossom and rose. Explains Cavallier Belletrud: “My idea was simply to stage these natural wonders in their original setting.”
Love clay masks, but hate the cloying texture and how dry they make your skin feel? So does singer Rihanna – and that is why she created Fenty Skin’s first face mask.
Fenty Skin’s Cookies N Clean is not your grandmother’s face mask. Made with clay, salicylic acid to exfoliate, and rhubarb and ginger extracts to condition, it has a lightweight texture and contains encapsulated charcoal beads that are supposed to burst when you massage the mask on.
The best part? It detoxes and deep cleanses without stripping the skin of moisture.
Tom Ford’s Soleil Summer Collection 2022 will be sure to keep you looking golden. The collection is inspired by the brand’s Soleil Brulant fragrance, a woody citrus scent launched in the 2021 Private Blend line. The Soleil Sheer Cheek Duo ($132) acts as a highlighter and blush with a peachy hue for you to perfect that golden hour glow. Complete the look with the Soleil Eye and Cheek Palette ($255) and Soleil Brulant Shimmering Body Oil ($175), formulated in rose-gold and gold shimmering shades.
This collection is stocked at Tangs at Tang Plaza, Takashimaya D.S, Sephora and Sephora.sg
Like tempers, skin flares up when temperatures rise. If you’re feeling the heat, why not slap on a soothing layer of belif’s Super Knights – Clear Soothing Mask and chill while you snooze? Its sorbet-like texture instantly cools skin upon application, while its formula of squalene as well as agave, oat seed and calendula extracts works from within to hydrate and soothe irritation, giving heat-stressed skin a moisture boost on top of much-needed relief.
Take on a beauty metamorphosis with the limited-edition Too Faced Too Femme Eye Shadow Palette ($68) by the American makeup brand. The 14-shade palette (pictured) comprises eight buttery mattes that are creamy to blend, including two of the brand’s signature neutral base shades – pressed in extra large pans to make the most out of your makeup. There are also four icy metallic shades including a minty green and bronzed gold-purple mix.
The skin’s natural reparative process is strongest at night, when the skin shifts from protect to recovery mode—which means it’s prime time for targeted products or those with nourishing ingredients. Enter Sigi Skin’s Youth Beam, an anti-ageing serum that works on restoring the skin’s microbiome with a blend of prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics. The skin’s microbiome is a colony of beneficial bacteria that forms its first line of defence against external aggressors and keeping it in balance can help improve skin barrier integrity. On top of that, there are antioxidants such as ginger and pine bark extracts to neutralise free-radical damage sustained during the day, and help improve skin elasticity and plumpness.
Thanks to a nourishing blend of marula butter, shea butter, coconut oil and meadow foam oil, this hard- working SOS salve treats and relieves irritation such as rashes and sunburns. An essential in any makeup bag, it can also be used on cracked heels, chapped lips and dry, dead ends.
Go bright or go home with the 25-pan palette that’s filled with vivid purples, blues, greens and more in matte and shimmery finishes. These finely milled shadows pack a pigment punch and can be swept on with your fingers or a brush. The possibilities are endless.
In need of that post-holiday glow? Peter Philips, the creative and image director for Dior Makeup, has created a new limited-edition makeup line for summer that imparts the sun-kissed beauty and carefree spirit of the French Riviera. Aptly named Dioriviera, the expansive seven-product line includes two 5 Couleurs Couture Dioriviera eyeshadow palettes ($110 each) that takes inspiration from the golden hour with its warm and champagne-like hues; 12 Dior Addict Lip Tints ($54 each) in shades of coral, taupe and deeper plum; two Rouge Dior Baumes ($58 each) in Coral and Bronze. Adding to the mix are two Dior Addict Lip Glow Oils ($54 each) in Bronze Glow and Peach Glow; two Dior Forever Couture Luminizers ($95 each) in radiant Pink Riviera and in sensual gold Nude Riviera; eight Dior Forever Couture Perfect Cushion Dioriviera foundations ($110 each, pictured) decorated with Dior’s distinctive Bayadere pattern said to make complexions luminous or dewy respectively; and three Dior Vernis nail polishes ($43 each) that beautify the nails in peach, coral and gold shades and strengthens nail buds with enriching peony and pistachio extracts.
The Dior Beauty Summer 2022 Collection is available at all Dior Beauty boutiques and counters from May 1 and from Dior Beauty Online Boutique from April 25
Billed as “a light switch for your skin”, the 2022 version has hydrating and protective benefits on top of the usual brightening ones. The key active remains the TXC molecule, which is designed to work on all layers of the skin, and targets melanin overproduction while stimulating the production of proteins that help strengthen the skin’s barrier. Working alongside this is the new gardenia fruit extract, which has moisture-boosting, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, and affords antioxidant protection.
This new-generation Dior Forever Skin Glow offers 24 hours of hydration for skin, while creating a smooth and even texture. The formula also contains floral ingredients like iris, pansy and nasturium extract to quell inflammation, protect skin and improve skin hydration. In addition, hibiscus acid extract helps to stimulate cell renewal so that skin is smoother and more even over time.
Clarin’s Bright Plus Advanced Brightening Dark Spot-Targeting Serum is a cult-favourite for its effectiveness in fighting off dark spots caused by pollution. Now, Clarins has expanded the line with three new products that aim to produce radiant skin in 14 days.
The Dark Spot-Targeting Moisturizing Emulsion ($105), Dark Spot-Targeting Treatment Essence ($75) and Dark Spot-Targeting Milky Essence ($75) are all formulated with rose myrtle and acerola seed extract, two power superfruit ingredients that boost cell respiration. This helps our cells to release waste products at a faster rate.
Similar to the Dark Spot-Targeting Serum, the new releases also help to keep the skin bright and looking flawless by targeting dark spots caused by external pollution. They also provide providing the skin with a much-needed hydration boost. The emulsion, in particular, is formulated with organic sea lily to help facilitate this.
If you are looking for a facial oil that is stock full of super-ingredients that will keep your skin plump and hydrated, Charlotte Tilbury’s Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil ($170) may be what you are looking for.
With a vitamin-rich base, some of the notable oils used are Babussu oil which has high moisturising properties, Blueberry seed oil to improve skin barrier function, and Raspberry seed oil to improve the appearance of skin.
Some other key ingredients include Collageneer® which reduces the appearance of sagging skin and Maxnolia O which lessens redness on the skin while boosting hydration levels.
Clinical test results have shown that testers see their skin looking 389 per cent more radiant and 337 per cent smoother in just two months.
The star of the collection is the Natural Enhancing Complexion Balm which features broad-spectrum protection of SPF30 PA+++, and hydrating formula of hyaluronic acid, evening primrose oil, Baikal skullcap, and white mulberry. Minor flaws and lines are blurred away without masking skin’s natural tones and textures, and this allows the complexion to stay fresh-looking for eight hours. It also offers UV protection with its mineral-only sunscreen and is available in 12 shades.
As with the rest of Hermès Beauty’s products, special attention was paid to its fragrance, which was created by Christine Nagel with a composition of arnica, sandalwood and green tea.
Vitamin C is a powerful ingredient that has the ability to brighten up the skin tone, keep the skin looking youthful and plump, and even heal wounds. However, it can quickly lose its effectiveness due to its unstable nature that causes it to oxidise quickly in the light.
Caudalie’s Vinergetic C+ line has thus been formulated to combat this downside through stabilising the ingredient four times.
The line consists of the Brightening Eye Cream ($49), Vitamin C Energy Serum ($68), 3-in-1 Vitamin C Energy Moisturiser ($56), and the Overnight Detox Oil ($62). All four products are power products that aim to brighten the skin and ensure a revitalised and fresh look.
In addition to Vitamin C+, the products are also formulated with hyaluronic acid and 100% antioxidant Polyphenols to combat fatigue and stressed-out skin, making them great choices for a working lady.
Diptyque’s Eau Rose EDP is a luxurious blend of damascena, centifolia and firad roses dreamed up by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin, who specialises in rose scents. What makes this floral bouquet unique is the fact that the firad rose is not a breed of rose but rather, an extract obtained by upcycling the distillation water of the damascena rose, which goes through a second round of distillation to yield an aromatic with nuances of fruity litchi, honeyed camomile and green artichoke, lending vibrant complexity and freshness to a traditional rose scent.
