Water is a precious natural resource, especially in a country like ours that has to depend on others for it (and the water dispute with our neighbour isn’t helping at all). While we work towards being more self-sustainable, we can all play our part in helping to conserve water in our own ways. Every little drop counts, right?
According to the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, each person in Singapore used about 143 litres of water a day in 2017. To put things in perspective, the World Health Organization recommends about eight litres per person daily to meet the requirements of most people under most conditions – and around 20 litres per person daily to cover basic hygiene and food hygiene needs.
