5 Places In Asia Adventurous Couples Should Visit
1. Zhangjiajie, China
image

Why It’s Great: Zhangjiajie’s Tianmen mountains served as the source for the floating mountains in Avatar and it’s no wonder why. The landscapes are incredible! We’d imagine you’d be rendered awestruck while there.

What You Can Do: River raft through the mountains, hike up the mountains or take a ride on the longest glass platform cable car ride that zips through the mountains.

2. Chiang Mai, Thailand

Why It’s Great: We know Thailand might seem touristy but take some time to explore the back roads of Chiang Mai and it might just amaze you. Immerse yourself in nature and trek through some of the oldest and most dense forests in Thailand while you’re there – with a guide of course!

What’s more, once you’re in Chiang Mai, there are plenty of ways to get around and explore other parts of Asia like Chiang Rai, Thaton and Mae Sariang.

What You Can Do: Zip line across the canopy layer of the forest, rock climb, mountain bike or even water raft through a river than runs through the forest. For an even more adventurous stay, take on a village home stay.

3. Nepal

Why It’s Great: Besides being home to Mount Everest, Nepal is the adventure traveller’s dream come true. The mystical country has snow capped mountains, rich natural biodiversity and different topographic landscapes make it a wonderful place for adventurers to try out different sports.

What You Can Do: Just about everything you could think of! Bungee jumping, paragliding or canyoning at high altitudes are some of the more popular activities.

4. Sapa, Vietnam

Why It’s Great: Cold waterfalls, luscious hills and valleys, Sapa is still a relatively untouched portion of Vietnam that surely deserves a visit.

What You Can Do: Hike through rice terraces and green valleys, take a swim in a waterfall’s pool and take in the views of the glorious mountain ranges!

5. Bhutan

Why It’s Great: Bhutan’s known for having one of the highest Happiness Index Rankings around the world and seeing how beautiful the country is, there’s no doubt why.

What You Can Do: Go on gentle treks or cycles through remote hiking trails and visit Paro’s culture rich attractions. You can even visit the deer park at Thimphu or hike up Taktsang Monastery that’s perched on a steep cliff.
