5 Places In Singapore To Celebrate Oktoberfest
1. Swissotel The Stamford (Till Oct 15)
image

Celebrate Oktoberfest with a dinner buffet at Cafe Swiss from Thursdays to Saturdays. A live grilled sausage station brings the Bavarian celebration closer to your dining tables, already heavy with items from a full buffet spread featuring Swiss appetisers, salads, hot mains, live carvings and even desserts.

Quench your thirst with Erdinger Weissbier and Dunkel beer. To continue imbibing in these Bavarian brews till Oct 31, head over to Introbar (above) for happy hour available daily from 5 to 9pm.

2. RedDot BrewHouse (Sept 17-Oct 30)

For a memorable evening of authentic German cuisine, live music and all-round gaiety, head to RedDot BrewHouse at either Dempsey or Boat Quay. Highlights on the special menu include the Oktoberfest sausage platter, grilled mackerel and crispy pork knuckle, and beer brined pork belly served with sauerkraut and mustard.

Wash it all down with RedDot-brewed traditional Oktoberfest pints of Vienna and Marzen, even while snacking on fresh pretzels. Come in full Oktoberfest costume and enjoy a pint on the house!

3. Erdinger Oktoberfest (Sept 21-Oct 28)

The inaugural Erdinger Oktoberfest will be spreading festive cheer at Suntec City (Sep 21 – Oct 2), Clarke Quay Central (Oct 3-11) and The Star Vista (Oct 19-28). Drop by to taste the limited edition Erdinger Oktoberfest brew, clap along to a German brass band and try special tasting menus.

Best of all, look out for the Erdinger BARcycle (above), a mobile bar counter that will pick up partygoers along its route – and offer lucky riders tasting portions of Erdinger Oktoberfest Brew, Weissbier, Dunkel and Alkoholfrei, compliments of Erdinger Weissbrau.

4. sQue Rotisserie and Alehouse (Oct 1-31st)

Throughout the entire month of October, sQue (pronounced ‘skew’ for the skewers used in the rotisserie concept) pays tribute to the international Oktoberfest event at its restaurant facing the picturesque Singapore River at The Central.

Dig into the Trio Pork Platter (above) that showcases the sQue pork knuckle, slow-roasted pork belly and BBQ pork ribs. If a bottle of Erdinger Weissbier isn’t enough to quench your thirst, sQue has a whole slew of 10 draught beers for your drinking pleasure.

5. Oktoberfest Asia 2016 (Oct 13-15th)

Bigger than ever before, Oktoberfest Asia 2016 is set for three days of partying in a festival marquee at the open field at Tan Quee Lan Street opposite Bugis Junction. Ticket prices include all the gourmet Bavarian food you can eat and with your free souvenir ‘bottomless’ beer stein, endless beer on tap from 6pm-12.30am – just don’t lose the mug!

Brews from Bavaria’s Paulaner Brauhaus, Schneider Weisse and Weihenstephan, and Singapore’s own Archipelago Brewery will be served, and the Hofbrauhaus band returns with Bavarian cultural entertainment from Munich. According to the organisers, the average person consumed three litres of beer and about a kilogram of food at previous editions of the festival.
