The spookiest season of the year is here, and with restrictions still in place, several major events and parties have been cancelled. But fret not, the fun hasn’t. Get dressed up (with or without the kiddos) and get into the spirit of Halloween 2020 in Singapore with these spooktacular events and kids activities that are still taking place.
Halloween Horror Nights might not be happening this year but fret not, there’s still fun to be had at USS — with safe-distancing measures in place, of course.
Take the kids on a trick-or-treat adventure around USS, where you’ll also meet characters like the Minion Monsters, and the Sesame Street folks all decked out in their spooky gear. Also, watch out for a Velociraptor from Jurassic Park. And there’s no time like now to head out in your Halloween best because there’s a best-dressed contest; each day, one adult and one child will be selected to win a prize on the spot. When you’re hungry from all that excitement, chow down on Halloween-themed bites like a Monster Burger or Eyeball Meatballs at outlets throughout the park.
Adult ticket purchases via the Resorts World Sentosa website also come with a free Halloween face mask, while each child ticket comes with a free pumpkin bucket.
When: Now till Nov 1, 2020
Tickets: From $68 (adults), and $58 (child)
Visit its website for more information.
Just across USS, you’ll get to come fact to face with spooky but amazing creatures that lurk beneath the waters, at the S.E.A. Aquarium. This Halloween, it’s got a special showcase of some of the planet’s scariest marine creatures like the wolf eel, and the vampire fish, which is armed with long fangs.
Apart from that, there’s a treasure hunt where you’ll get to search for “lost pearls” and win mystery prizes, as well as trick-or-treating fun for the kids. Or snap a photo of you at the aquarium in your creepiest costume and post it to your Instagram with a hashtag to win prizes such as one-day tickets and special passes worth up to $222 each week.
Adult ticket purchases via the Resorts World Sentosa website also come with a free Halloween face mask, while each child ticket comes with a free pumpkin bucket.
When: Now till Nov 3, 2020
Tickets: From $32 (adults), and $27 (child)

If you’re a horror flick fan, make your way down to the Art Science Museum. To celebrate 100 years of horror films, it will be holding limited screenings of what’s arguably the first horror film ever made — iconic 1920 German Expressionist silent film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. It tells the story of a deranged hypnotist (Werner Krauss) who uses a somnambulist or a sleepwalker (Conrad Veidt) to commit murders, through a dark and twisted visual language.
And if that isn’t enough to satiate your appetite for the nightmarish, there’s a specially curated series of early short films from 1967 to 1995 by American filmmaker David Lynch, who’s famous for creepy shows like Eraserhead
This one’s not for young kids.
When: Now till Nov 6, 2020
Tickets: Free, but tickets have to be pre-booked
Visit its website for more information and screening schedules.
If you’ve got a La Catrina costume in mind this Halloween, floral stylists Cindy and Natalia of Beauties in Bloom have just the thing to help you top it off – silk flower crowns with a sugar skull theme. Get your friends down and learn how to create your own at their workshop (held at Senor Taco at Clarke Quay), where you’ll be guided to build a crown style of your choice, and even get make-up tips to nail the sugar skull look.
