The spookiest season of the year is here. While restrictions are still in place, fret not, the fun hasn’t been cancelled. Get dressed up (with or without the kiddos) and get into the spirit of Halloween 2021 in Singapore with these spooktacular events and kids’ activities that are still taking place.
Halloween Horror Nights might not be happening this year but fret not, there’s still fun to be had at USS — with safe-distancing measures in place, of course.
Take the kids on a trick-or-treat adventure around USS, where you’ll also meet characters like the Minion Monsters, the Sesame Street folks and Dreamworks Animation’s Trolls all decked out in their spooky gear. And there’s no time like now to head out in your Halloween best because there’s a best-dressed contest, and all you have to do is snap a picture of yourself in your costume at the park, and share it on Instagram with the #TrickorThrillsatUSS hashtag to stand a chance to win. Don’t forget to get special treats from the Candy Ambassadors around the park, or chow down on frightfully fulfilling mains and sweet treats at the carts and dining outlets around.
For those who miss the Halloween Horror Nights, there’ll be a special exhibition with six zones showcasing props, displays, and costumes from the iconic event – don’t worry, no jumpscares here but it’s recommended for those above 16 years old.
When: Now till Nov 7, 2021
Tickets: From $69 (adults), and $59 (child), Singapore residents only

Here’s another museum to visit for Halloween (and a more creepy one that’s not for young kids or the faint-hearted), and this one takes you on a 90-minute guided night tour that follows the story of Rose, a Nyonya who died tragically in Joo Chiat.
The walk starts from the former Joo Chiat Maternal and Child Health Clinic that was built in 1907, and ends at a private Peranakan museum, where it’s said that paranormal activities are still sighted by its caretaker. You’ll also get to check out an exclusive collection of rare Peranakan treasures, including jewellery, a matrimonial bed, and other furniture.
For those aged 13 and above only.
Tickets: $60 per person

If you love a good ghost story, there’s a storytelling session to send chills down your spine, alongside a live podcast that’ll delve into Southeast Asia’s history of monsters and spirits.
The Craneum event also has ongoing workshops and readings, like a tarot card experience, Halloween flower basket decorating, as well as screenings of four horror shows.
The kids aren’t forgotten, too. There’ll be kids’ face painting, caricatures and a Halloween-themed art jam.

Captain Barbossa’s Black Pearl in Pirates of the Caribbean might be the stuff of fantasies, but you can have a similar experience on board the Royal Albatross’ ghost ship cruise.
The theme of the 2.5-hour cruise this year is centred around the “Sentosa Triangle”, where ships and their crew have mysteriously disappeared. Once you’re on board, look for a crew member and ask them “Where’s the ghost”, and you’ll be led to the haunted Captain’s cabin. A three-course dinner will satisfy your rumbling tummies, and you can stand to win a mystery prize worth over $200 if you turn up in your ghoulish best.
And in case you’re looking to celebrate the occasion with your furkid, there’s a special ghostly cruise that welcomes furry friends, too.
When: Oct 29 to 31
Tickets: From $195 per person
