Home-based learning (HBL) has been rolled out at all primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and the centralised institute from April 1 as part of additional efforts to support safe distancing. It was supposed to be put in place for only one-day per week for all Primary, Secondary and Junior College students respectively.
But the government has now announced that ALL schools and higher educational institutes will be closed from April 8 to May 4, and students will participate in HBL instead. Pre-schools and Student Care Centres will also shutter for about a month. The Ministry of Education has come up with a Parent Kit to guide parents on what to do during this period.
