Gathering around a bubbling pot of broth brimming with everything under the sun just seems to put everyone in a convivial mood. Here are some of the hotpot restaurants in Singapore you’ll want to check out if you’re planning on steamboat for your CNY reunion dinner.

This hot pot chain’s nourishing soup bases as well an impressive array of fresh ingredients and homemade specialties has made it one of the most popular to-gos in the local hot pot scene. Premium ingredients that come with the Chinese New Year set menus include Japanese A4 wagyu beef, black truffle prawn paste, US Kurobuta pork, and 10-head abalone. You’ll also get a twin pot with the Beauty Collagen and Spicy Nourishing Broths.

When: From Jan 29 to Feb 28, 2021
Dinner seatings on Feb 11, 2021 are at 5.30pm and 8pm.

Thai-Chinese steamboat restaurant chain Coca has been operating on our shores since 1987 and has been a family favourite. 

Its CNY Special Menu will be a hit with seafood lovers, with a menu that’s chock full of unlimited servings of seasonal lobster, scallops, sea cucumber, flower clams, snow crabstick, and more. Apart from a complimentary additional soup option and premium broth, you’ll also get to enjoy a free-flow of beer and selected beverages.

When: On Feb 11, 2021, reservation slots are available at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8.30pm

Cost: $88++(adult) and $35++ (child) for Chinese New Year menus

Choose from a diverse selection of soup bases such as the popular Sichuan spicy soup and rich Ginseng chicken soup, as well as order signatures like Imperial Drunken Chicken Soup and the Four Treasure Ball Platter. There’s an array of live seafood, too.

Before getting started on your reunion dinner, toss your way to good fortune with the Fatt Choy Smoked Salmon Yu Sheng. Follow that up with your choice of Twin Soup Base, a medley of premium ingredients such as Sliced Fresh Abalone, Hokkaido Scallop, USA Choice Beef Short Rib Meat and other handmade dumplings.

This relatively new steamboat place at Chinatown Point boasts brightly lit and modern interiors. If you’re up to explore beyond the usual soup bases, Taikoo Lane has nine soup bases to dip your ingredients in, from Sichuan Spicy Soup to a Golden Salted Egg Soup broth. 

Menu mainstays include seafood platters, handmade meatballs and dragon fruit prawn paste.If you’re headed there during the festive season, you can go for its Chinese New Year sets that offer a seafood platter, sliced wagyu beef, handmade dumplings, yu sheng (minimum of four persons), and more.

Whether you’re the only one in your group craving steamboat or feel more comfortable with having your own individual hot pot, Carlton Hotel’s Cafe Mosaic is one to check out. It has launched a new hot pot menu with individual sets that include a soup of choice, a seafood, meat or veggie platter, as well as two complimentary sides and condiments. For soup bases, you can choose from Mala, tomato, cordyceps flower and mushroom, chicken stock and a vegetarian option.

When: Daily, from 12pm to 2.30pm, and 6pm to 10pm

You’ll be hard-pressed to choose from City Hot Pot’s arsenal of 14 flavourful broth bases; take your pick from herbal chicken soup and fish maw fish soup to Korean kimchi and Thai tom yum soup for a spicier kick.

Set meals are available for individuals or up to eight persons, and you’ll get to feast on wagyu beef, US black Angus short ribs, pork collar and minced paste, seafood sets with lobsters, scallops, and more. Each set comes accompanied with a veggie platter and staple of your choice to fill your tummy – think udon, braised pork rice, instant noodles, and mee sua.

Appreciate alcohol with your steamboat? It’s got an array of beers, red and white wines, and sake.

As you can guess from its name, mutton is a specialty here, but it’s got more than just that. This hot pot chain hailing from Mongolia has various types of meat that can be dipped in an assortment of soup bases. In fact, the savoury soup base, made with seven special spices and mutton from Inner Mongolia, is promised to be so flavourful that the restaurant has done without any dipping sauces.

From Australian sirloin beef cubes to Kurobuta pork and rolls of thinly-sliced lamb, this is a meat lover’s haven.
