Wheathead was started in 2019 as a home-based business in Tampines. The small-batch bakery has become so popular that the owners have decided to open a physical space in One-North to make their baked goods more accessible. You'll find its pie offerings on rotation, which include bestseller Banana Cream Pie ($14 for a slice, $40 for 6″, $105 for 9″), Chocolate Silk Pie ($38 for 6″, $105 for 9″), which has a mousse-like dark chocolate filling, and Toasted Rice Pie ($14 for a slice, $36 for 6″, $98 for 9″), a malty custard pie made with toasted rice and served with Italian pistachio cream. 2. Caro Patisserie
French pastry chef Caroline Titzck created Caro Patisserie to share her love for handmade and authentic French tarts. The business started in her home in 2020 and has grown to two outlets in Yio Chu Kang and Joo Chiat Road. You will find both classic and exotic flavours here, ranging from Tarte Tatin ($58 for 8″) and French Apricot Tart ($58 for 9.5″) to Passion Fruit Tart ($55 for 8″) and Mango Tart ($55 for 8″). Those hosting parties can also consider the tarlets, heart-shaped tarts, and cookies.

3. Elijah Pies
Elijah Pies’ Wild Berry Lavender Pie is definitely one that you have seen on social media before. The brand got its start in 2014 when owner Elijah Tan wanted to make a Nutella pie that would satisfy his then-girlfriend (and now wife!) Limin Wong’s cravings. The rest, as they say, is now history. Besides the popular Wild Berry Lavender Pie ($59 for 9″) and Nutella Pie ($54), there are unique flavours such as Milo Marshmallow Pie ($59), Honey Chrysanthemum Pie ($59), and Speculoos Hojicha Pie ($59). 4. Windowsill Pies
Fans of mint and chocolate will definitely enjoy the Grasshopper Pie ($67 for 9″) available at Windowsill Pies. Its outlets are now located in Roxy Square 2 and Great World, but those who frequent Haji Lane might remember that the shop used to be located within the hipster enclave. Armed with experience collected at multiple renowned restaurants around the world, Cheryl Koh started Tarte by Cheryl Koh in 2015 with the Les Amis Group, where she also works as a pastry chef. She was also named Asia’s Best Pastry Chef in 2016 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Her creations, therefore, come with a more refined appeal while being made with quality ingredients sourced from all over. A mother of three turned home-based business founder, Liz founded Mummy Liz Bakes to share her love of baking beyond the confines of her home. As it is a one-person operation, the menu is short and sweet. For pies, pick between the Apple Crumb Pie, Macadamia Pear Pie, and Blueberry Crumb Pie, all priced between $28.95 to $54.95. 7. Le’ Tart
Decorated with delicately cut fruits and edible flowers, Le’ Tart’s creations are nothing short of artworks. Peranakan chef John started the bakery and brings with him his training from a Swiss culinary school and training in semi- and fine-dining restaurants. Whether you are looking for sweet or savoury tarts in miniature or sharing sizes, bestsellers here include the chocolate-based Dune Oasis ($72 for 15cm), the French fruit custard tart Garden of Dreams ($110 for 20cm), and the tea-infused Lyra Nectar ($15 for 10cm). 8. Patisserie Cle
Patisserie Cle was started by pastry chefs Germaine Li and Joy Chiam in 2018. The duo first met in 2016 at the famed culinary institute Ferrandi Paris, where they pursued their diploma in French pastry arts. The tart they are most known for is the Orh Blanc Tart ($55/$80 for 6″/8″), which is made with yam paste modelled after the Teochew dessert orh nee. Otherwise, you will also find other sweet tarts, cakes, bread, and croissants sold at Patisserie Cle.

9. Chicken Pie Kitchen
For those without a sweet tooth, don’t worry as we got you with the savoury selections from Chicken Pie Kitchen. It was previously named Don Pie after its founder, Don Lim, who made a name for himself selling, well, pies. The Original Chicken Pie ($6.80/$33.80) is the beloved OG recipe from 1983, but there are other variants such as Black Pepper Pie, Curry Pie, Chicken Shepherd’s Pie, and Golden Cheese Pie ($8.80). All Things Delicious was founded in 2013 as an online store by Dewi Imelda Wadhwa before opening its halal-certified restaurant along Arab Street. The establishment is a mecca for good food and desserts.
