Tucked in the famous ABC Brickworks hawker centre is The Bowl Story which serves up various iterations of Japanese donburi or rice bowls. Founded by couple Calvin Lee and Elena Ngian in 2020, the family-run stall serves up curry rice with a choice of protein between chicken, pork, karaage and ebi.

Japanese Curry House

Japanese Curry House is another hawker stall peddling Japanese curry, this time at Our Tampines Hub. As the name suggests, Japanese curry is the only dish the stall sells - all of which are accompanied by various protein sides ranging from fish to chicken. They have curry udon too.

Otoko Japanese Restaurant

Maruhachi was founded by an owner-hawker who was an ex-head chef of a famous tonkatsu restaurant at ION Orchard for nine years. Since then Maruhachi has expanded to 10 outlets in Singapore, serving up donburi rice bowls and curry rice alike. Maruhachi uses 100 percent cottonseed oil to fry its cutlets, which makes for a lighter, less greasy meal.
