Kueh Talam Asli is the first of two kueh hawker stalls in Geylang Serai that we are featuring here. As the name implies, the stall is most known for its many variations of kueh talam, a two-layered dessert made with copious amounts of fragrant pandan, coconut milk and rice flour.

Founded in 1981, Deli Maslina started as a humble stall in Mukmin Restaurant in Bedok before expanding into two locations in Bedok and Tampines. Deli Maslina retails a wide variety of sweet and savoury kuehs, ranging from Onde-Onde and Bingka Ubi (baked tapioca cake) to Epok-Epok and Pulut Panggang (grilled glutinous rice).

Headed by the Widjayas, Ratu Lemper prides itself on “halal heritage delicacies” such as the Indonesian lemper (glutinous rice with savoury proteins) and a variety of kueh that are handmade the day of. Besides selections such as Kue Bakar (made with eggs, coconut milk and flour) and Bika Ambon (honeycomb cake), come on the weekends for added items like Onde Onde and Lopes (glutinous rice dumpling).
