To commemorate our country’s bicentennial and 54th birthday, this year’s fireworks will fly from the Singapore River for the first time, right outside the Asian Civilisations Museum! This is in addition to the fireworks that will set off at the Marina Bay area, and some low-level pyrotechnics that will happen at the Padang, where this year’s National Day Parade (NDP) will take place.

This means more of us will be able to catch the dazzling display, which involves the longest barge in NDP history at Marina Bay. At 450 metres in length, it promises a more panoramic view of the fireworks which is expected to start at 8pm and last for five minutes.
If you’re planning to head down for the festivities, there are loads of prime spots to catch the fireworks for free. But this also means jostling with the crowds, and when you’re travelling with kids in tow, you may want someplace more comfortable.
