South Korean drama Crash Landing On You has finally concluded its run as a top-rated series. In fact, the finale episode had ratings over 20 per cent – overtaking Goblin (2016-2017) as the highest rated K-drama in tvN’s history – thereby proving its popularity.
Hot from 2018’s hit drama Something in the Rain, actress Son Ye-jin stars as the lead Yoon Se-ri, an heiress who accidentally lands in North Korea after a paragliding incident. There, she meets a North Korean army officer (played by Hyun Bin), and the two begin a secret romance.
While the story is highly captivating, we also can’t help but notice all the gorgeous bags Ye-jin touts around in the show. We did some digging and found that they’re available for purchase in Singapore! So if you’re looking to invest in a new work bag this year, why not start with these stylish picks as seen in Crash Landing On You?
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
When Ye-jin was looking to end her life in Switzerland, she heard Hyun Bin play a song on the piano that gave her the strength to continue living. On her shoulders, she was carrying Hermès’ famous Kelly bag.
Who doesn’t know the Kelly? The unique backpack iteration is uncommon so you might have to look on resale sites.
In episode 10, Ye-jin was dressed in an Off-White suit with a Longchamp handbag, making a powerful statement as she made her return back to the South.
Does this bag look a little familiar to you? That’s because Ye-jin carried the mini version of this design in the pilot episode.
After looking forward to returning South, the most obvious transformation to Ye-jin was her outfits. In this scene where she went to the family house, she wore a Balmain suit with Roger Vivier bag, giving off the airs of the rich.
South Korean dramas tend to air as it is filmed, which is why the accessories worn by Ye-jin belong to the latest season and can be found on the shop shelves. This mini Beau Vivier is from the brand’s current spring/summer line.
To prevent any loss of focus from the scene, the bags are mostly flipped around and logos are often removed during post-production. This bag, however, which Ye-jin sported as she was leaving the office in episode 11, was actually from Valentino.
This VSling bag is extremely popular in the show. Why? That’s because Seo Ji-hye (who plays rival Seo Dan) had carried the red version in episode three. Who do you think carried it better?
In episode 11, Ye-jin brought Hyun Bin shopping to transform him into a South Korean after he had crossed the body. In the scene, she was dressed in Chanel 2020 pre-sping with a white Chanel bag.
This boxy design is actually quite sizeable and can hold work documents to work. The accompanying chain also allows you to carry it on the shoulder.
At the end of episode 11 where Ye-jin was leaving the office before she was chased by Cho Cheol Gang, she was dressed in a grey trench and carrying a sleek Celine bag.
Founder Celine Vipiana was inspired by the chains surrounding the Arc de Triomphe in Paris after her car broke down in front of it, resulting in the Triomphe logo. The current design was a reintroduction by current designer Hedi Slimane.
In the flashback scene in episode 11 that detailed Ye-jin and Hyun Bin’s encounter in Switzerland, she was carrying another red Hermès bag.
The Herbag style is another classic style of the label and has a similar design to the classic Kelly.
After Hyun Bin got hurt in a scuffle, Ye-jin took the initiative to take revenge. In the scene, she looked fierce and in charge while sporting a Bottega Veneta 2020 pre-spring trench and a Roger Vivier bag.
Clean lines and a square silhouette is complemented against the angular logo of the label – an instantly recognisable design for the discerning.
On her birthday, Ye-jin wore a white suit with a pink bow shirt and finished with a pink Tom Ford design. This is how you can look like a powerful CEO with romantic details.
The furry texture complements the pink colourway and oozes girliness in every way.
Before Crash Landing On You aired, this photo of Ye-jin went viral on the Internet, with netizens picking apart the details of the outfit. Here, the actress is dressed in a floral Dolce & Gabbana dress with a Miu Miu bag.
The crocodile-effect leather makes this Miu Miu bag look elegant and expensive, and it can be worn as a handbag or a shoulder bag with the detachable chain and leather strap.
Ye-jin, who plays a rich heiress and fashion brand owner, is always impeccably dressed in the show. In a mall scene in episode one, she’s dressed in a stylish ensemble of a blazer outfit paired with a Gucci handbag.
This black Gucci patent leather bag is contrasted against gold hardware that gives it an added extravagance.
Although Ye-jin’s character was born with a silver spoon, she didn’t rely on her family background and founded her own fashion brand with her two hands. At this family dinner scene in episode one, she is dressed in a V-neck Balmain dress and carrying a mini purse from Longchamp’s spring/summer 2020 collection.
Mini bags continue to trend into 2020. And this iteration by Longchamp that she carries in the episode is already being sold in Singapore. Perfect for ladies who prefer going light!
In episode two, Son wore a gold dress from Dolce & Gabbana as she went around inspecting the shop. On her arm is the classic Lady Dior bag that elevates her ensemble.
The Lady Dior bag is a classic of the French maison all thanks to the late Princess Diana, who was often spotted in public with this tote in tow. It is also because of her that the bag is now named “Lady Dior”.
No spoilers here, but the end of episode two contains a plot development as both lead characters had a prior encounter in Switzerland. Ye-jin is dressed in Celine fall/winter 2019 and bag as she watches parachutes landing with Hyun Bin.
In this scene, Ye-jin is dressed in a Miu Miu checkered trench coat with a Fendi crossbody bag. Could she have been matching with Hyun Bin and his military outfit?
The double FF logo is the focal detail of the Karligraphy series. Unlike the classic FF logo we’re used to, don’t you think that the cursive form adds a touch of femininity?
In this scene, which we surmise to be Ye-jin’s character returning back to South Korea, she’s dressed simply in a white T-shirt and jeans as she carries a leopard print Tod’s tote that keeps her smart and polished despite the casual outfit.
The Tod’s D-Styling bag was released in 1997. It was one of Princess Diana’s favourite bags and remains a representative of the label. The D-Styling bag is handcrafted and made with premium leather from Germany and France.
Ye-jin looks nothing less than a strong, powerful woman in a white blazer and dress complete with an Alaia bag.
Don’t be fooled by the understated simplicity of this bag. The use of studs to mimic leather stitching makes the design a show-stopper.
