Farms in Singapore may seem like a foreign concept, but Hay Dairies, located in the sprawling Kranji countryside, is actually home to over 800 goats of mixed breeds. Here, the whole family can learn more about how these gentle creatures are reared, and the benefits of goat’s milk over cow or soy milk.
Purchase a packet of alfalfa hay ($5 each), and the kids can enjoy the hands-on experience of feeding the goats themselves. Don’t miss the milking sessions, which take place daily from 9am to 10.30am, and remember to pick up some fresh goat milk before you leave.
3 Lim Chu Kang Lane 4, Singapore 718859. Operating Hours (for farm visits by public): 9:00am to 4:00pm (Monday, Wednesday to Sunday) Farm is closed every Tuesday. Visit https://haydairies.sg for more information.
You can use your digital SingapoRediscovers vouchers on farm tours that include visits to Hay Dairies Goat Farm, Kok Fah Technology Farm and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve via these five Authorised Booking Partners:

Bees are perhaps some of the world's most misunderstood insects. The Sundowner, which transformed its rooftop area into an organic farm, including beehives, aims to correct this misconception and educate people on the importance of the role of the honeybee on our ecosystem.
Put on a bee suit (kids’ sizes available), and you will get to observe up close these hardworking bees harvesting flowers around the garden.
After the educational session, indulge in a farm-to-table honey-tasting session, where you get to sample different kinds of unifloral honey, and appreciate their quality and taste compared to supermarket varieties!
The Bee Encounter is part of the two-hour Rooftop Farm Experience, which features an Organic Farming Class, the Bee Encounter and Farm-to-Table Tastings. 705A East Coast Road, Singapore 459062. For bookings, Whatsapp The Sundowner at 91888132. For more information, visit www.thesundownersg.com.
Joo Chiat is synonymous with Peranakan culture and Instagram-worthy shophouses (don’t forget to stop by for a quick photo!), and is the best place to go to familiarise yourself with all things nonya-related.
At the heart of this vibrant area are the Peranakan restaurants, such as Old Bibik’s Peranakan Kitchen, a Halal-certified Peranakan restaurant known for its meticulous, traditional cooking methods. Its signature dishes include the Nyonya Beef Rendang, Crispy Chinchalok omelette with prawns, vegetables and fermented shrimp, and Jiuhucha, which are hand cut turnip strips with dried cuttlefish served with lettuce.
328 Joo Chiat Rd, #01-02, Singapore 427585. Old Bibik’s is open from Monday to Sunday, 11:30am to 9:30pm. For more information, call 8450 7996 or visit www.oldbibik.com.
After a hearty meal here, complete your cultural immersion in the neighbourhood with a tour, such as the Peranakan and Eurasian Journey Tour by Oriental Travel & Tours which take place every Friday and Sunday, or a visit to The Intan, a meticulously curated home of Peranakan artefacts.
Tours like this can be redeemed using your digital SingapoRediscovers vouchers and are available through the Authorised Booking Partners mentioned above.
