There’s a whole range of fun and lighthearted activities to take on with the family this week. Look out for the super exciting Pixar-theme mini golf course that's launched for the first time in Singapore. Let’s not forget that Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner and it’s a great time to let the little ones immerse themselves in the fanfare of it all. Whether you’re planning a mooncake tasting soiree or taking a night walk with a lantern in hand, there are lots to be done.  

Go golfing at a Pixar-themed mini-golf course

Pixar Putt has arrived on our sunny shores for the first time at the Waterfront Promenade at Marina Bay Sands. The pop-up mini-golf course is inspired by some of the animation studio's most iconic films - including Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Inside Out, Onward, Luca and more. The open-air event is designed specially for the entire family to have fun with and is suitable for players of all ages. 

Starts from Friday, August 26 at the Waterfront Promenade, Marina Bay Sands. Opens daily from 1-pm 10pm on weekdays and 10am-10pm on weekends. Get your tickets here

Embark on a meaningful charity walk with Community Chest

Community Chest Heartstrings Walk is an annual community event that rallies partners, volunteers and the community to build a caring and inclusive society. This year, the evening walk will take place at the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade over a 4km stretch where they can bond with colleagues, family and friends. 

Registration period starts from August 1 to September 9. The event is happening on September 10. Registration fees start at $25 per person.

Sweat it out in a warrior challenge indoor obstacle course

The newly opened indoor playground at Orchard Central, X-Scap8 features five different activity zones including a high element obstacle course, a retro arcade, a golf simulator, a smash lab and a warrior obstacle course. Aptly named the ‘indoor Ninja course’, the warrior obstacle course consists of specially designed elements to show off your agility, speed and strength. 

This activity has a height requirement of 1.2 metres and children below 10 are to be accompanied by an adult. The X-Warrior Challenge is currently complimentary with $30 spend per person at the ‘Eat-Play-Laugh’ RestoBar. Find out more here

Discover traditions and myths at the Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival 2022

Celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival with a  whole line up of exciting activities filled with Chinese arts, culture and heritage at the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. From 10am to 9pm daily, adorable installations of spherical lanterns featuring the Moon, Earth, Sun, Saturn, and Mercury will be displayed outdoors. Catch Lawn Installation: Celestial Bodies in the evening to watch the planets light up.

Available from now till September 25, 10am to 9pm daily; admission is free. Fringe activities will also be available.

Be part of folklore and legends in a Chinese Opera Workshop for Children

Presented by Nam Hwa Opera, this workshop is an exploratory experience where the little ones will be exposed to classic opera pieces with mythical Chinese characters while having fun with lantern riddles.

The workshop is conducted physically, in Mandarin, at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall  on September 4 (1.30pm – 3pm, 3.30pm - 5pm). Recommended for children aged six and above. Admission starts from $20 per pax. Purchase tickets here.

Snap some Instagrammable family pictures at Hello, Changi Precinct

From 10 am to 9.30pm daily, Changi Airport Terminal 3 Departure Hall will be home to the “Hello, Changi precinct” gallery. The free pop-up gallery showcases all eight districts that make up Changi Precinct and invoke nostalgia with familiar exhibits from our childhood days. It will also be putting up future plans for the area. Look out too for tours and crafting workshops.

Get better at expressing your emotions with MENTAL: Colours of Wellbeing

Expressing emotions can be challenging, even for the grown ups. One of the key determinants of success at work is identifying and tactfully expressing what you’re feeling in real time. Start the kids young by exposing them to the multifaceted nature of mental health and wellbeing through the Colours of Wellbeing exhibit at Art Science Musuem. The exhibition utilises different types of medium to explore the many different ways of being and surviving with the ultimate aim of sculpting layered perspectives.
