Second-generation owner Loh Teck Seng has faithfully made soya bean milk and bean curd six days a week for almost 40 years. He took over the hawker stall from his father in 1985 after he lost his job during the 1985 recession. His day starts at 11pm when he soaks, grinds, cooks, and strains soya beans by hand to create the stall’s two signature products: Soya Bean Milk ($1.20) and Beancurd ($1.20). 2. Chan Lin Bean Curd

Blink and you’ll miss Chan Lin Bean Curd, who is situated between a basketball court and a hawker centre in a nondescript shed. The stall has been around for over two decades and is a little secret among the community. The soy milk and bean curd are made fresh onsite daily, six days a week. And come early too as the shop closes at 2pm. Here, you’ll find Bean Curd ($1.90), Soya Bean Drink (from $1.10), Grass Jelly ($2.50), and a dessert consisting of peanut tang yuan, bean curd and soy milk ($2.80).

The hawker stall was started by chef Chang Lee Wong, with their first outlet at Old Airport Road Food Centre. He used to work at Pan Pacific hotel before becoming a hawker. Now, you can enjoy 51 Soya Bean at Golden Mile Food Centre with flavours like Original ($2), Almond ($2.20), Bandung ($2.20), Milo ($2.20), as well as Soya Bean Drink (from $1.20) and Grass Jelly ($2.20).

Gogo Beanz Soya Bean was started in 2008. Madam Neow, a former employee, later took over operations of the hawker stall after the owner wanted to venture into a new career path. Only organic soya beans are used to make the bean curd and soy milk sold here. There are 12 bean curd variants to pick here, ranging from Original Beancurd ($1.50) and Sea Sea Coconut ($2.50) to Almond Beancurd ($2.40) and Candy Jelly Beancurd ($2.40).
