Bong Qiu Qiu Reveals Pregnancy Meltdowns At A McDonald’s Outlet
The incident happened over 11 years ago but it’s stayed with her till now

Blame the pregnancy hormones.
Influencer and mum of three, Bong Qiu Qiu — whose real name is Ang Qiu Ting — recently shared a hilarious yet very relatable confession on Instagram: she had not one, but two emotional meltdowns at the same McDonald’s outlet at Punggol 21 Community Club while heavily pregnant.
She is mum to three children — Meredith, 11, Amelia, nine and Oliver, seven.
“When I was carrying my first child, I did not know hormonal changes could be so drastic,” she shared. “I crashed out twice with that outlet and bawled so hard.”
According to Qiu Ting, her husband Josh usually took very good care of her, making sure she was fed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But on two occasions that he had to head to work, she was left to fend for herself.
The first incident happened when she was craving fries. “It took everything I had to go that McDonald’s, and it was during lunch time,” she recalled.
Things went downhill from there when, according to her, three people cut her queue.
“I felt so wei qu (wronged), I was already teary while queuing.”
When it was her turn to order, she tearily told the staff that she had her queue cut, but also avoided eye contact because she felt embarrassed.
The second meltdown happened on another day when Josh was at work.
This time, she was craving a Sausage McMuffin. Unfortunately, her delivery order arrived wrong — she received a Filet-O-Fish instead. To make matters worse, she couldn’t stand the smell of the burger at that stage of her pregnancy.
So she called the hotline and bawled. “I’m so super pregnant, and I waited, and I waited. I just really want to eat a McMuffin!” she told the staff.
The call was later transferred to the outlet manager, who assured her he would sort things out.
Within 30 minutes, there was a knock on her door — and it wasn’t the delivery personnel. It was, in fact, the manager himself.
Looking back, Qiu Ting admitted her reactions were probably over the top and apologised to both the hotline staff member and the outlet manager for having to deal with her emotional outbursts.
Her confession struck a chord with mums, who shared stories of their own hormone-fuelled pregnancy moments in the comments section.
One mum shared her own experience crying in a cafe, commenting: “Thank you for sharing! Pregnancy hormones really trigger crying. I also want to say sorry to Five Oars cafe for crying inside their cafe when I was heavily pregnant a few years ago. I cried like as if their food 不好吃 (wasn’t good), but it’s really just pregnancy hormones. 😢
Another shared: “Pregnancy hunger and hormones is really NO joke. I’m also traumatised by myself.”
The takeaway?
Pregnancy hormones are very, very real, and can take even a usually rational person by surprise.
So if a pregnant woman seems unusually emotional over fries, a McMuffin or something that might seem minor to everyone else, maybe give her a little grace. She’s probably dealing with a lot more than just a craving.
