This year’s Mother Tongue Languages Symposium is going online. Check out the fun virtual activities to help your kids love their Mother Tongue Language.
The popular annual Mother Tongue Languages Symposium (MTLS) is back, with a virtual twist this year.
Just chill at home with your kids, get your devices ready and explore the online activities from August 29, 9.30am, at the website (www.mtls.edu.sg).
Into its ninth year, the event
will be launched by the Minister for Education
and Second Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong.
Expect lots of fun interactive experiences
designed to help your kids embrace a life-long love for their Mother Tongue
Language, whether it’s Mandarin, Malay or Tamil Language.
Revolving around the theme “Flourish in Our Mother Tongue Languages Wonderland”, your family can look forward to a virtual gallery comprising 35 e-exhibits, 18 e-sharing sessions and an interactive Online Quest.
You
can even go online shopping to buy a range of curated resources for your kids’
learning.

Virtual Gallery:
Explore innovative practices
Visit the exhibits by preschools, schools, community partners and the Ministry of Education (MOE) and learn about their innovative approaches to promoting the effective learning of Mother Tongue Languages.
Sharing sessions and
workshops: Get expert tips
Watch pre-recorded and
live-streamed sharing sessions, featuring local and international education and
curriculum experts, as well as celebrity parents. They will share tips on how
to cultivate your kid’s life-long love for Mother Tongue Language.
Plus, there will be a live-streamed
panel discussion on “Creating an Immersive Environment
for the Learning of Our Mother Tongue Languages”, which includes a Q & A
segment to allow participants to ask questions on the topic discussed.
Panellists include the e-MTLS’s Guest-of-honour, Mr Lawrence Wong, with Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social and Family Development as the moderator.
Online Quest: Immerse
in an interactive virtual quest
Your kids are invited to take part in a fun Online Quest that will go live on the e-MTLS website in November. They get to role-play as friends of the MTLS mascots as they navigate the Quest, complete tasks and experience the joy of learning Mother Tongue Languages.

The MTL Challenge
