A Baby Now Or No Kids Ever? I Put My Single Gen Z Colleague On The Spot

It’s easy to have opinions until you have to pick between two options you didn’t ask for

Would you rather be pregnant right now, or never have children?

If you’re already a parent, rewind to when you were single. Imagine being asked to choose before you knew how your life, career or relationships would turn out. What would your choice be?

That’s one of the Would You Rather dilemmas I put to my colleague Beverly Quek, single and 28, in this episode of Too Tired Mums.

Of course, I didn’t make the choices easy.

Would you rather your grown-up child be an OnlyFans creator, or unemployed forever?

Before you answer, “They can find another job”, that route is closed. Nobody wants to hire them. Would you accept how they make their money, or support them indefinitely?

Would you rather you or your husband be the default parent?

The one the children turn to first. The one who remembers, organises and keeps track. Would you want that role, or happily hand it over?

Would you rather be pregnant at 28, or never have children?

Does knowing you want children someday mean you’d choose to have one now? What else would you need to know before making that call?

Would you rather be stuck in a situationship, or stay single for another 10 years?

A decade might sound manageable. Now imagine the weddings, family gatherings and “Have you met anyone yet?” questions along the way.

How would you answer these questions?

Watch Beverly make her choices in the video below.
