Resilience in children is one of the key factors in determining how they manage stress, cope with difficult events (like a pandemic for one), and it can even influence their mental health in the long run.

Resiliency is a measure of how quickly and effectively you can cope with challenges, it speaks to your ability to bounce back from trauma or difficulties in everyday life. And in the time of a pandemic where things are drastically different, this skill is more important than ever. There are many ways to go about building resilience in your child, from strengthening supportive relationships, focusing on managing emotions, emphasising the importance of autonomy, and even creating opportunities for personal challenges.

We spoke with Dr Elaine Kim, co-founder and CEO of Trehaus and Carolina Sam, Head of School of Trehaus School to share five ways you can build resilience in your children during a pandemic.
